plastidip is pretty awesome stuff.. i used it before my 4runner to get rid of all the chrome.. when i sold the car.. peeled it off and it looked like new.. no one can ever tell..
but that audi looks like **** tho lol.. looks like primer.. should use in moderation
this fool doesn't tell you that plastidip is hard to wash.. imagine bird poo and tree sap.. that stuff doesn't wash off.. i don't wanna be racist but i can see certain so cal minorities doing this to their 1988 civics and accords with chrome wheels.. oh yeah.. plastidip car with rent a wheel chrome.. if you spray a thin enough layer it can double as tint too

i've read some reviews online saying you have to clean the surface prior to using plasti dip and to use at least 4 coats for it to peel off good!
Can you tell us your experience? how many coats did you use etc.

my hood used to be vinyl and i used about 3 or 4 good coats it holds on good but imo its not matte black its more like flat black

yeah i did plasti dip on my grill but i don't have the ***** for doing it on my car.
i been contemplating doing the vinyl. how long did you have the vinyl on for? any issues with the paint once you removed it?

I had it over 1 or 2 years no issues with paint and comes off very easy as long as u take ur time doing it slowly

This guy is an idiot , having used plasti dip plenty of times in the past I know its a bad Idea in this amount . Its hard to wash and it's not pleasant to the touch . Can't believe he did that for a show . The car looks might like a painted clay model . Grill , window trim , that's fine but the whole car is crazy .

Sorry to Resurrect this thread but I ordered the kit in matte black and I'm doing my whole car. Until you see it up close don't count it out. It's an awesome cheap way to change the way your car looks.

I find the matte black really hard to paint over large surface areas such as the hood. No matter how good a gun you get, you'll always get that line where ever you overlap the layers.

It's good for auto shows and such but not for everyday use. Also that is a lot of paint cans...
I know a guy who did this with his Audi TT and it looks good but he does not drive it everyday. He also touches it up when he needs to but it offered some great protection from rocks.
