SPYDER headlights

For those asking and PMing me about a group buy, I think we want to finish this 2 week endurance run so we can see if we need to make any quality improvements as well as see about incorporating any changes/suggestions so we can see what the final production cost will be before setting any group buy price. I know one of SPYDER's goals was to price aggressively.

+1. This. Lol. Also, something that would work with P2 cars (with stock Xenons) would be nice. Not sure if this one does or doesn't off the bat though.
If they have any alternatives for fogs too I would be interested. Foglights keep dying on me as of late. P2 pack's corner illuminating fog function kills the life on them. Considering swapping everything out for LEDs, but I like the functionality of fogs. #firstworldproblems.

I'd like to see dual projectors and the lower LED strips be like 6000k or something and what if instead of removing the eyebrows entirely they can have a line of LED strip there as turn signal in amber. I would def need it to be compatible for xenon tho.

It really does look too busy as it is now. I'd say do away with the eyebrows, but all that extra space up there without the eyebrows might look weird.
This would be PERFECT.
My ideal dream configuration would be do away with eyebrows entirely, black out the entire housing and use dual projectors for high and low beam, remove the turn signals, keep the bottom LED strip, but use switchback LEDs so they'd be white as DRL and flash white/amber when signal.
Probably not gonna happen lol

Like you said, switchbacks would be nice. Other than that I like the way it looks. For those who think its too busy can always shade the lights of their choosing. The blacked out housing gives an aggressive look. I would love to see the turn signals in action. Count me in for the group pricing!

In addition to all that I would also suggest maybe painting the inside dark gray instead of black like the C63 housings. It seems all of the new Benzes have gray insides which I think would make the headlight look even more updated and comparable to 2012. With all that I would truly prefer that light to the 2012 OEM lights, plus you get to keep your fogs! I'd buy that in a heartbeat. Again I just hope there's a solution to OEM xenon, which may be hard because of the auto leveling system.

Fiqure out the eyebrows. If they don't come with led bulbs and just use regular 194's . Won't look appealing from the beginning. But i like the blacked out look and the led strip.
Depending on price might just go with the stock DRL led's.

I'm curious what you guys are envisioning for a version w/no eyebrow section. I think it will make the lamp look very ricey when you move too far away from the stock design. I think the key is very subtle improvements. IE. the opposite of the 'altezza' taillight craze of the early 00's

If you pull the bulbs from the eyebrows, it'll throw an error.
So talked with SPYDER today and they'll going to talk to their manufacturing guys to see how feasible it is to eliminate the eyebrows entirely.

yeah they throw errors w the bulb removed, the only thing that wont is the foglights, ive tried all the rest. Im in the process of deleting my eyebros now on my 2011. I have my DRLs full bright and it looks better without them on. Im just blacking out my OEM bulbs w black paint and gonna tint or buy those eyebrow covers off ebay and paint them black to match the car. Im gonna try a few resistors and see if i can just tap each eyebrow w them to bypass bulbs altogether using ohms law. If I had a set of these spyders Id tear em open and customize them, might look good w DRLs down low, might be too busy tho

I've asked them about the factory xenon option and waiting for response, but what I meant by that quote was that people have swapped OEM halogen C63 headlights to non-amg w204s before so structurally should be the same.

Yup, It throws an error everytime. burned out a 194 bulb before. Comes on everytime. Even my fogs set off errors when i burned both simultaneously.

Sounds good mike! I'd be down to test fit it needed. Also do you think spyder would be down to make their own version of the 2012 led tails? I'd be the first to buy them and seeing as there's a massive market for them right now for the pre-2012 crowd they could definitely make some $$ if they came out with them :3
