NO COMAND retrofit for USA cars? SA 494
So I send a message to MBUSA to confirm a part number swap for a COMAND Retro. They send me back a message that I can not retrofit COMAND APS (code 512) into a car built for USA.
This cant be true; is it?

maybe he can chime in. I was contemplating this upgrade also, but to me the cost is not justified by the gains considering I don't even drive the W204 a whole lot.

All, I have read extensively through this forum and all over the internet. This is the first time I have been told that it could not be done on a USA car. I have read extensively in star infotek retrofit procedures and see the is very simple. I have a strong electronics background and understand how everything fits together.
I have a 2008 donor car with the option 512 COMMAND APS and option 810 Harmon Kardon system that I plan to transplant into my 2010 C350 that currently has audio 20. I don't understand why MBUSA says it can't be done when I know this is a relatively easy procedure really.
