LED Fog Light

On the left side of the fog housing could be a good place in this pic... The slanted area that looks like a back slash \

Back slash area beside fog \
Can anyone photoshop it?

One is too cut out a slot in the plastic mesh surrounding the fog lights, and add some small DRL's, and wire them up using one of those automatic DRL controllers that connects directly to the battery. I'm thinking maybe Philips Daylight 4's, or something like this here, if the Daylight 4's are too long:
The other is just to put some LED bulbs in the fog lights, and wire them up to function as DRL's. I don't like the corner illuminated lighting feature, since it makes it look like I have a bulb burnt out, and for that reason, always have the fog lights on with the headlights. What I'm thinking I could do, is cut the fog light harness wires, connect the fog lights to my DRL controller, and run the original fog light wiring to resistors, to prevent bulb out errors. Not sure yet though if I want to hack up my wiring like that, although if I used some connectors, putting the fog lights back as they were would just be a matter of swapping some plugs around.
Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks.
I have purchased the front sport bumper(or AMG look as it's called in Europe ) which is year 2010.
In this year although it has the same part number as the Pre-facelift bumper, it has led(DRL) instead of round fog lights.
Can someone tell me if it will be easy to put round fog lights on this bumper? Because if you see the two bumpers between em are the same except at the fog light area.
Pre-facelift (07-10)has some brackets that hold the fog light ,on the other side the 2010 bumper does not have any. It has a small rectangular hole that DRL takes place.
See the pictures attached :
