parking break release handle broke

The parking break release handle on my 2013 c250 broke. The dealer told me that it's not covered under the CPO warranty. They want $20 for the part and 1 hour labor to install. I will install it myself. Where is the best place to get the handle? Dealer? Online?

any special things to note when replacing it?

I agree, at $60 for 1 day access....might as well pay someone else to do it.

It's different when you don't do it every day.

I love when customers diag the car themselves, based on "youtube", then ask us to fix it. Guy i worked with loved saying "why don't you have the internet fix it for you too"

When you value your time at zero, it's always possible to DIY for cheap. Shame the real math doesn't work that way.

You'd be surprised at how much good information is out there. This site is an example of just such a place to get good reliable info. Now I need to figure out how to get the get dash end part out so I can access the e-brake cable. FWIW, the problem usually occurs with the thing between the keyboard and seat. It's not that the information on the internet is bad, it's the skill of the person.

Oh I agree 100%, I get tons of info from here and online. I have become the ABC guru at my dealership, and 90% of the knowledge I have about it, came from my research for my own personal car before I even worked at MB. But I was already a master tech, just not with benz, and I have a great memory and love solving problems. I've worked with plenty of people who just don't have what it takes to work on cars, but they do it anyway.

A car
WTF did you do to the parking brake? I use it EVERY single time I park my car. I'm curious how it breaks off?!
