How Dark Should i go with My Tint?

Hey,

I know there are TONS of threads out there about tint %, but i thought i would get an opinion based on the colour of MY car, and the interior. Here are pics of it, (sorry for bad quality was late at night, had to use the aperture mode :/)
How Dark Should i go with My Tint?-mb-resized.jpg

How Dark Should i go with My Tint?-interior-mb.jpg

If you can't tell both Interior and Exterior are grey.

I'm 17, and i have no problem seeing at night, so personally i would go with a darker tint, but unfortunately my dad is not to fond of driving his escalade at night and occasionally drives my car. Seeing as my dad payed for it for me along with my other cars, i think i should be considerate about his eye sight at night. Basically, im trying to achieve more privacy then the stock windows, but not a total block out.

Thanks to everyone who helps me solve this dilema i have

Also if you have pictures of the suggest Tint would be nice aswell ;D

I have 35% all around on mine and it doesn't affect night driving at all imo. But in bright sunlight, sometimes I wish I got darker maybe 20% or so.

The thing is that you are in Canada. I don't know about Ontario but in Alberta the tint is illegal. I have 35% all around on my Mustang and have never been pulled over by any cops. But I do agree that it is a little bit light during the day, as you can see through and through. Still a lot better than nothing and gives a good look to the car overall. At night it gets fairly dark and you can't see through it at all.

I just picked up the C350 today and I am going to get the tint done in a couple days here. i was thinking 30% would be the lowest because I really don't want to be hassled by the cops all the time.

Thanks for the input , i do know Ontario doesn't have a "Law" on the tint % its up to the cop, but it seems as if the "agreed" limit is 35% all around and no tint on the windhsield.

20% - Much better than 35% and although illegal in most states I never get harrassed about it cause you can still see through it.

I have a black C300 and 5% tint on 5 windows. 5-20% IMO would look dope. I get a lot of "maintenance" done from the passenger seat so I like that privacy. Considering your father you should go around 20%.

I have 20% and have no problem seeing out or reversing at night. Remember our windows have tint on the to begin so 35% tint comes out to be around 20%, at least that is what happened in my case.

Depends on how much you like spending time with cops. I won't get mine tinted at all because it's yet another (often used) reason for the cops around here to pull you over.

one day ill be like you haha but anyway thinks for the opinion, the thing is i've heard some people in their late 30's complaining that there tint was to dark at 20%, and i've hear people say when they got 35% they wish they went darker. :/

Well, here in Toronto it is legal to tint your windows 35% front and no limit on the rear windows. I don't thin legality is an issue though, my friend has his ISF tinted at 15%, and his jetta tinted at 5% and he has never gotten a ticket.

thanks for the input

Haha

My 35% tint on the mustang or even the 40% on the 350Z has never stopped me from getting any 'maintenance' or for that matter 'full service' done. lol

While I am not a fan of different percentages on front and back side windows, I tried something a little different on this car than my previous cars and went with 30% on all 4 side windows, and did the rear window in 20% - I have a CTS with all windows at 35% and my wife's Lexus is 20% all around - I think the CTS is too light and the Lexus is too dark, so split the dif and I am happy camper.....

It is really a personal preference, do what makes you happy...One more thing...hug your Dad....daily.

I do, i'm VERY appreciative of the cars he's bought me, (if thats what referring to lol)

Btw, I think the setup that you have on your c350 looks amazing, its has the privacy that im looking for, as well as being able to see in a little. Hows reverse at night with the 20% back windshield?

Also, i 100% agree that the different % looks a little bit weird.

So far, it seems as if I'm leaning to the Pinnacle 30%, post pics when you get yours done.

Is that what you have on yours? Is there anyway you could upload a pic of it from the inside looking out?

Please don't go out of your way though, that would be unnecessary.

Thanks for Contributing, but i think the film type I'm gonna go with is the Pinnacle Films, it seems to be the best film out there.
