How do I know if I have 7G-TRONIC or 7G-TRONIC PLUS in my 2011 C250 CDI?

As the title says, how do I know if I have 7G-Tronic or 7G-Tronic Plus in my 2011 C250 CDI? Note: This is the MY12 according to US naming convention- i.e. the facelifted design:

Reason I ask is I looked back at my original brochure from May 2011 (when I bought the car as it launched in Australia) and it says "7G-TRONIC" yet when I look at the updated brochure from October 2011, everything else is identical except it now says "7G-TRONIC PLUS". My understanding is there is slight difference between the two but am not too sure what (I saw it in a French C class brochure which explained that only the C300 continues using the 7G-TRONIC whereas the others use the PLUS model variant).

Feel free to correct me but I think the 7G-TRONIC PLUS is for the 2012. They produce the 2012 model in fall of 2011, which I assume is what you were confused about with the updated brochure. Not completely sure and I didn't attempt to google it to find out definitively. Just off the top of my head.

Thanks for that. So if my fluid is blue, then it means I have 7G-TRONIC PLUS? Now all I need to do is figure out how to check lol!

Still perplexed as I'm looking at the brochure from when I bought the car (April 2011) and it clearly says "7G-TRONIC" alone, but then when I look at the same brochure but with the October 2011 specifications it says "7G-TRONIC PLUS". Note that the brochures apart from this appear to be identical, and even the equipment level (and fuel economy/consumption) is the same as far as I can tell.

Then you have the 7G Plus. Go back and find Glyn Ruck's post on a new trans fluid and read the whole thing where it describes the new transmission and how it works with stop/start and why the fluid is different.

Go to the .pdf file in the post titled "of interest".

Thanks- I think that clears things up for me!

For anyone else looking, refer to second post in this thread: https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...-imminent.html

Or if you want the relevant extract,
The new seven-speed automatic transmis- sion is equipped with a start-stop system for the first time. This makes possible with the addition of an electric auxiliary transmission oil pump, 6, that safeguards the pressure supply when the mechanical transmission oil pump is not running (engine off). When the driver comes to a stop at a red light, for example, the engine switches itself off. As soon as the foot brake is released or the accelerator pedal pressed, the engine starts as if it were running the entire time.

what does the plus do - I want to know too

My guess is it's that stop start is included when gear oil pressure is maintained by an additional motor attached to the gearbox. Could explain why starting from stop-start sound so different from normal starting.

My car came with the 7 speed Plus but I never drove the previous version so I can not tell you if there is a difference of not. I have a 2012 C350 which I prefer to drive in sports mod.
