Wow, only 2.5 inches, Honda Civics run bigger pipes, you shouldnt put on anything less than 2 3/4IN pipping

Um, sorry but you're wrong. Our exhausts are 2.25" which is what this x-pipe is. Anything bigger will not work without step up/down pieces. This is the perfect size.

What I am saying is that its wasted money, it offers no performance gain. The only way to uncork some power is to remove the restriction and that is going to be done with bigger pipping all the way through. Ill be honest I dont get Mercedes owners they do things half ***.

It's done for the improvement in the tone of the exhaust, not for performance. I agree the exhaust needs to be bigger diameter all the way back to gain HP. I also think that exhaust without headers is a waste of money too because most of the gains are in the headers.

I know that I come off *** a *****, but the whole thing just seems so ricey. I guess it just comes with the brand of the car. Im dying to have conversations about real car things, not quad tips or I got a sunroof mod. Just saying I have never came across a group of guys on a car enthusiast site just not interested in real car issues.

I totally agree with you on this. The unfortunate part is that we own a series of car that has very little potential in the motor so all we can talk about it cosmetic stuff. I come from an Audi background and 450+ HP big turbo 4 cylinders. I wanted something I new I couldn't dump a ton of money into and get carried away again. BUT! I'm already looking at upgrading to a c63 or something even more powerful. Looks and styling an only go so far, I'm craving big HP again

Im not sure that it has no HP potential. In fact Im sure that the 1.8 Turbo has tons of potential. The problem that Audi does not have is a lack of Platform sharing. The good news is that the Turbo owners will get some serious upgrades in the next year or so. MB has annouced that the 1.8 turbo will be there base engine for the next 8 years in most of there models.

I agree on getting carried away, I spent over 42k on my Subaru engine, but that car would run all over a AMG no problem.

Why are you here then? You have a brand new car, what kind of issues do you need to talk about?

Enthusiasts are not allowed to talk about quad tips or sunroof mods? I would consider anyone who changes their tips to a quad setup an enthusiast.

Not really, I wouldn't say that is a enthusiast. But to each his own, hope you enjoy your quad tips.

Car enthusiasts are people who are really into cars. Do they actually have to put go-fast mods in their cars to be a real enthusiasts? Just asking.

No I would not, but that's just me. I stand by my words, I am sorry if that offends anybody in these forums. There are others on this site, that know what I am talking about. They do come from other community's of Auto enthusiast. Go to a BMW, AUDI, LEXUS or even a VOLVO site and see the difference, not to even mention the very hard core FORD, SUBARU and 3 STAR websites. See what those community's are doing! Once I get my second car the 1.8 Turbo will be coming out block split and I will be looking at the engine for strengths and weakness and potential improvements. Personally I know that the 1.8 Turbo can become a monster with a little imagination, and that is my gripe a lack of Imagination in this community. A enthusiast has a thirst for Knowledge on there cars, what most people are and its not a bad thing is dabblers.
