2008 C200 rear left indicator and rear right brake light stays on
Dear MB Experts,
I am having a strage issue since this morning, I had a warning in the meter console for right turn signal not working but when I switched of my car, the left indicator stays on and also the right brake lights.. Any suggestions what went wrong and whats the problem.. HOw to have it resolved please advise. Thanks.

Unplug the battery and see what happens? I'm at a loss and I assume most people are as well, which is why no one is responding. Best advise: take it to the dealer or Indy

It's likely a rear SAM issue. For CANbus & SAM issues you really need to get the car onto a Star diagnostic machine. SAM might just need re programming.

Thanks for you response Glyn..
Took the car to workshop and the guy says your Fuse box which is in the trunk part # 2045453901, is blown and you need to replace it..
Is it something to believe or he is trying to rip me off.

He is talking about the rear SAM - Signal Aquisition & Actuation Module. (includes fuses)
These things are expensive. It might be blown but it might also just be corrupted. First step is to re-program & initiate. If that fails then replace which also requires programming with Star.

I don't think so,I check the tail light, the wire does't connect to the rear SAM,so I think it does't matter with rear SAM.

I don't see tail light cluster connect to the rear SAM directly. The wire and what you say confuse me.

Please note that anything that is labeled "electronic" on your fuse diagram is controlled by the front or rear SAM. The SAM is controlled over the CanBus which is a bi directional digital network that replaces miles of hard wiring. example. If you turn on your parking lights or headlights a signal is sent over the CanBus to the SAM to tell it to turn on your lights.
See the W203 Wiki for how a CanBus operates.

Here from Wiki.
You have no wiring diagram as you are used to because a Canbus carries multiple signals in multiple directions simultaneously if necessary.

Sorry, No.
You really need a Star to work on the SAM. Sometimes it's just the software flash that has become corrupted.

I see the thread about "DIY: REAR SAM low cost repairing", and I'll try to reset rear SAM.If that not work,I'll find a used rear SAM or goto a Star like you said.
