need advice - coilovers DIYing tools?

gonna be installing coils in about an hour or so. I'm not mechanically inclined so my friends are gonna be helping me install em. Theres no DIY on coils but springs should be the same so I've been looking at that thread.

The only tool that stood out to me that I need to pick up is the T40 star bit. Am I missing anything?

yup came with it. MY GOD the front was a PITA. we took 10 hrs just to do the front (on an off) 2 of which was caused by getting stuck at taking off the top hat plastic bolt cover. Ended up breaking both in the process. W/E, need the place empty to adjust my dampers anyway. Also taking off the damn top hat took forever. Wish I knew more about coils before jumping in. Wouldve just bought new tophats instead and saved myself 4 hours. >.> got too late so gonna be doing the rear another day.

so the front is making some noises. tried tightening the spring but that didnt help. my friend thinks the pillow bar the megans came with is putting too much tension on my sway. anyone know if any aftermarket pillow bar will fit?

Try tightening any connections like on the top hat and make sure the spring isn't sitting loose.
It's very common when the top hats are loose for coilovers to clunk over bumps.

Also, make sure the spring isnt' too tight. You should have the spring perches just tight enough that the spring can't rattle up and down but no tighter than that. As far as the pillow ball putting pressure on the sway bar, that's impossible. The best way to check things is to get all the weight off that wheel and then pull the wheel of the car and just try to shake everything. Something might be loose. If nothing is loose, look for paint being scraped off of things or shiny marks. Shiny areas is usually from stuff rubbing. Your sway bar might be hitting something, depending on how low you went.

yeah we did that too yesterday after getting the car off the jack. I didn't tighten the center nut tho which is whats holding the top hat down so i'll try that later. We did tighten it from the bottom up tho.

I edited my post above with more info. And if you're talking about the nut on the shock shaft, DO NOT use an impact gun or air wrench on that! Tighten it by hand.
