The Lord Bought Me a Mercedes Benz - Now I Must Fiddle!
Hi guys,
Hope you are all well.
I have recently bought my very first Mercedes and, 4 weeks down the line, I still have an erection in my pants! Apologies for being crude by I love her (she is called Maya).
I am wondering if you guys could help me. I have looked high and low for answers but struggled
My car is a C Class 220 CDI (diesel, manual).
First question, is this also known as W204?
Can someone ping me a link to a compatible VIM adapter? Just plug and play please
I am looking to replace all lights on and in the vehicle to upgrade to LED lights. I dont want to cut any wires so I understand they need to have some sort of CANBUS? Can someone please ping me links, preferrably to Ebay UK website, where I can purchase those that are plug and play? I dont care if Polarg or Olarg....just want a nice white, bright light!
I have recently changed my brake discs and pads (front and back) myself but I expected the brake pedal to be towards the top of the travel but it only bites half way down the stroke. Is that a bleeding issue?
Also, how easy is it to change the oil yourself on this car?
Not sure if anybody can help with this but the front drivers side suspension rides very hard - almost as if it is not absorbing the shocks. MB dealership, after £130 acknowledged that it rides hard but could not locate issue. Anyone else have this issue?
Thank you all in advance for any help you can provide.
As an added incentive, and to save any abuse, I will credit £5 (yes £5) to anyone who can provide me answers to my questions without any sarcasm or comments like search the forum - I have thank you very much:-)
Happy to provide anymore information that is required.
Thanks my fellow MB owners - My C Class is smoking hot!

Can't help with a UK suplier for the LEDs but check with Mike (AZN-C300) he sells ones designed and tested on the W204. I don't approve of VIM myself but a search will find a very common one that works with the MM unit.

The brake pedal should not feel any different if you have brand new pads/rotors or completely worn ones. The pedal should feel the same as brake fluid should take up the "space" of worn brakes. But if you are/were low on fluid and then the brakes wore down there's always the chance that you sucked some air into the lines but that would cause a squishy feeling on the pedal. If your calipers are working properly you can always bleed the brakes (or pay someone to do so) to remove any doubts. It's not difficult to do and not expensive to pay someone.

for interior LEDs, i went with ijdmtoy.com. they make the panels to fit exactly into the dome light housing and it is super bright...my cars in the shop so ill post pics later. for parking lights you have to use error free which you can find a ton of on ebay. search T10 error free led. footwell lights use same T10 but you dont have to use error free (technically).
as for the rear license plate light, there are no replacements for it yet (as far as i know). since they have been factory upgraded to leds but i find it very dim. after disassmbly of the rear plate frame, the connectors and adapters do not match any replacement on the market.

I bought AZN LED sidelights and indicator bulbs for the front. The new OEM 2012 rear lights and these rear number plate lights for the rear.

Regardless of whether your LEDs claim to not produce CANBUS errors, I have always needed to install extra resistors when fitting LED sidelights / licence plate lights to my 2000 CL 500. I recommend buying blade connectors, which will allow you to splice two wires together with an absolute minimum of fuss.
