B&G Springs installed - Car sits higher.

Hey guys, need some suspension gurus for a little advice here.

I just had B&G Lowering Springs installed (Part Number: 52.1.072) and after installing them, I did not notice any drop - in fact, I noticed that my car rode higher than before!

Now, I've had suspension work done before on other cars, and I never ran into this problem.

Anybody else use B&G Springs for their MB? I'm extremely confused here.

Thanks in advance!

Never liked them, and this says why. I've seen severe quality control issues especially unevenness. These may be made in China. However, did you also have the struts/shocks replaced as well? How about other components, like the upper strut bearing caps, #8 etc.

1) First, did you verify the part numbers?
2) Are you sure F vs R are correct, as well as up vs down?
3) Did they "clock" the spring end coils into the existing matching contoured rubber end pieces?
4) Did they tighten the lower bolt an the rear shock after car was resting on it's tires?

If so, call B&G, and mention if bumper stops need to be trimmed.

Good luck Jim, this tape ...

Thanks for the reply, Jim!

1) Part numbers were verified when I received the product.
2) I don't know, as I took it to a shop to get it done.
3) Same
4) Same

Although I can't say for certain that the shop used the correct steps to install the springs as I was not there for the install, I can say that these guys knew what they were doing and were experienced in installs such as this.

I sent an e-mail to B&G to see if I could get a reply from them.

If these don't settle, I may have to go for the H&Rs....

did you wait 2 weeks or 500km before it settles?
it should drop at least 1 inch or 2 after it settles depending on the brand

I've never seen a 1.5" to 2" settlement drop, even after a year, unless the shock or cap fails. If the springs were clocked, and the upper coil marks were set correctly, (L&R, T&B etc) etc. , then the springs are not what they claim. You have a fright on your hands as for the cost. Sorry to see this.
