Alignment - Rear Toe Nonadjustable?
I noticed my right rear tire had uneven wear (see photo), the outer side was a lot more worn out. Had them replaced at america's tires and the guys said it was an alignment problem.
Got the rears replaced with Conti DWS and went to Pep Boys to get my alignment done. After the first try, I noticed the steering wheel was not centered. The car will steer to the left with the SW centered. The car drives straight with my hands off (but the SW is not centered, it is a bit turned to the right).
Went back there the next day and they said it was the rear toe-settings and nothing could be done. The tech's advice was to go to a body shop and have the car checked out to see if anything was broken.
Any thoughts? The folded paper is the first report and the smoother paper is the second report. The total rear toe are in-line with the recommended specifications even though they are individually out of spec..
Apologies for the long post and thanks for the help!
Call dealer about rear toe adjustment ... may require special order "offest bolts". Or do some searchiing here.
As far as right rear tire, neg camber looks innocent for outer edge wear, and RR toe-in should be about 25% of that value.
.
Are the toe-settings really that off? Left and right rear toes are off but total toe seems to be within spec.. Oh btw, Pep Boys can't even get the SW centered.. After 2 tries... Seriously..
