2011 c300 aux port HELP!
Before anyone says it, I have searched high and low and have still found no answer to my problem
I have a 2011 C300 4matic. It has the 7" flipscreen navi. It does not have ipod integration, however it does show AUX as one of the audio sources.
I have looked in the entire glove compartment, and even pulled off the side panel near the passenger door and still cant find it.
Am I blind? Did MB move the aux port in the 2011s? Is it possible the car came without one?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Im stumped!!

I had a 2012 loaner and it was moved to the center console. Mine in my 2008 was on the right side of the glove compartment in the main section on a ~1inch diamater black plastic piece that blends into the interior color. Was kinda hard to find when I first got mine.

I don't think so, I didin't realize that I had one for 5 years, when I finally learned that there must be one I just couldn't understand why I haven't noticed it. But as I will show, I doesn't quite look like an AUX port..
I don't know. But this is how it looks in my 2007 C220 :-)

Still no luck
Ive literally looked everywhere. The space that normally houses the aux port is filled in with a spacer. Any other ideas? I have the harmon kardon logic 7 system.
Is there an aux input behind the deck??
Im dying without my aux!! Pls help!!

I'm in the same boat. 2011 C350 - No Aux in the glove box, just the empty place holder.
From reading around on some other threads for older models, I think we just have to buy/ install the Aux Input cable from a dealer ($40ish). What I have not been able to find yet is the part number for the 2011 models, nor am I 100% certain where the harness is. (I think it's on the passenger side under the door sill - going to take a look tonight.)
I'm going to call my dealer on Monday as I want to get this sorted out asap. I'll update with any info I find out for the '11s
Edit: Monday update - after taking all of the paneling off from the door sill to the kick plate, I could find no open harness where the aux cord might go; I contacted 2 local Mercedes Dealers regarding the issue - one of them took 15 minutes to find a part but could not give me a part number (not allowed) though I am waiting for the service department to call me back about an install (since I am unable to find an open harness); The other dealer tried to tell me that they can't install aux only and will only do the iPod integration kit (which I absolutely do not want). I informed the guy that the Aux install was fairly simple from what I had researched but he told me $300 for labor and still tried to push back to only doing the iPod integration kit ($266 for that piece; Mercedes of Buckhead can bite me...)
Crossing my fingers that the service department at the other dealer will be more helpful, but extremely pissed that I'm having to fight for an Aux cable at all when the brochure for the 2011 C-Class specifically states that all models from this year come with Aux Input: http://imgur.com/SpUmh
Might have sprung for a 2012 that has integrated bluetooth audio streaming if I had known MB was this far behind on pretty standard auto technology...

Hmm thats frustrating. My car literally came with every option (HK, Logic7, MM package, Nav, HID etc) yet I'm missing something as simple as an aux port even though its a selectable option on the head unit.
Any luck yet Windmills?

I found a local guy that does a lot of work through the MB dealers here who is going to do it for $175 (parts and labor), I've just not been able to get on his calendar this past couple of weeks...
I'll try to get a part number and some info on the harness location etc once he finishes the work. After all the hours I wasted trying to find a harness/ part number/ details on how to get this done for the '11 models, I'll be happy to finally get this taken care of for his price.
I'll update this thread as soon as I get mine done and have some more details to share.

Another thread stated that sometimes the Aux cable is stuffed behind the right hand side of the glove box, accessible by opening the right hand door and removing the large triangular plastic trim that outlines the shape of the dashboard just to the right of the glove box door. (Hidden of course by the door when the door is closed).
The suggestion was that one could opt for putting the MP3 player or iPod either in the glove box, or run the cable around the door trim in the interior of the car, across the floor, and up into the center console.
I cannot confirm that this is true for your particular model W204, but it was in this location for some. Try and find the thread, comes with photos and even a red highlighted routing for the cable to the center console.

Thanks for the suggestion Acapulco Bill - I had seen some of those threads you mentioned and took my paneling off from the glove box to the kick plate looking for the aux cord or a harness, but no luck at all.
VAST - I had one of the MB tech guys come out and put in the Aux harness (he just ran a new harness to the back of the comand unit) but unfortunately Aux Audio is toggled off in the engineering menu and is not one of the options you can change without getting a diagnostic update at the dealer (http://imgur.com/0QPPY).
I'm going to try to get that done in the next couple of weeks, but from what I've read in the meantime, there is a chance that the latest firmware updates for the comand units will allow bluetooth audio streaming even for the older models that didn't originally come with it (I've seen it work on updates to the 2010 E Comand units). I'll post more updates if/when I ever get this worked out

I'm sure he could - he works with all of the dealerships around Atlanta and seems to know his way around the MB factory & custom work better than anyone else I have spoken to. Give me a few more specifics on your c300 (which nav unit etc) and I'll ask him about the Sirius install.
He's going to install the factory reverse camera in mine for around half the price the dealers quoted me...

Hi, I have a c300 2010. So from the other posts, is it safe to say that an auxiliary input is not a standard option for c300 premium model, even with Navigation? I cannot find it in the glove box as well. Thanks.

@yautsun: This may not be true for all builds or countries, however in the 2010 C-Class owner's manual, there is a minijack female SOCKET (not necessarily a cable) shown. Again, here is a perfect example of MB providing "High Tech" in your expensive W204 cabin... NOT!!! Some dealers may automatically give you the male-to-male minijack cable. Here is the image from the 2010 Owner's Manual:

@Acapulco Bil: Thanks for the reply.
I recently bought it used and have gone through the manual. A plug/cover made of similar material as the glove box lining has been placed where the location of the aux jack is suppose to be according to the manual. I can remove the plug but no jack is underneath. I am in Canada.
Thanks in advance for any comments.

Open the right-hand front passenger door, and on the side of the glovebox that is exposed with the door open, there is a triangular cover (about 5" on each side) that you can CAREFULLY pull off. It is held with molded-in plastic clips. Perhaps the actual cable is under there.
If not, other alternatives include carefully removing the glovebox liner and look left back to the side of the headunit. Or the cable may have even been relocated to run into the center console under the armrest. In this case, it would have been fed from the location mentioned in the first paragraph on the side of the glovebox and run along the door frame and under the carpet.
It is these lame stupidities of Mercedes Benz that upsets so many owners, a 2003 Hyundai provides a jack right on the front of the radio in addition to showing the name of the song of each track of a CD on the simple radio screen. My 2003 BMW M3 even provides a USB slot and direct MP3 decoding capability from user-burned CDs, also showing the title name on the 1-line screen. MB is nearly a decade behind Ford.

Aux on a 2010 mb c300
Old topic but just in case.....on my 2010 c300 I remived the side panel but initially could not find aux plug. Loe and behold there was a black cable with a grey plug at the end near the iphone cable. The grey plug was the aux plug in.
