Question ? to all that have added lowering springs to their cars... question?

when you added lowering springs (eibach or h&r sports) to your mb c class... did you have to trim the bump stops (on the rear shocks)? for i am having a set installed tomorrow and wanted to do so correctly.

some cars require trimming the rear shock bump stops and some do not... thanks for any insight!

I didn't need to trim mine and I experienced no issues. I installed H&R SS springs.

well i had the eibach pro-kit springs installed today...

i love the drop on the front but the rear seems to have very little change? do you think it will settle? (specs were to be 1.1" front & 1.0" rear) ... thoughts?

Yes it will go a tad lower once it settles but not by much. Some ppl have swapped out the spring pads when they upgrade the springs ie 13mm to 5mm pads. Do a search, there are threads about that topic.

Some oems (and some aftermarket) allow more gap at the rear in case you load the car up for a trip with 5 people + luggage. But yea, the pads would be the trick to get lower. The 8mm change is multiplied by the "motion ratio", which could be 1.7, so you drop 1/2" at the wheel.

the lowered specs (gap between the tire top and fender) are as follows: front is .75" & rear is 1.25"

i think i will try to visit the installation company today and see if they can confirm the spring is seated/turned correctly at the top and bottom at the pad and perch. if so, and the height is as eibach intended... i may have them trim 1/2 of the dead coil in the rear to adjust the height and have things more uniform/balanced.

I didn't have to trim anything neither. H&R sport springs. car dropped 1 inch front and half rear. After a month remeasured ride hight and it had settled another .25 inch all around

Is that what you measured? Eibach lists 1.2" drop, front and rear.

Where did you buy those wheels? I was looking all over for them since Avant Garde discontinued their M328 wheels.

i had a 9mm pad installed on the rear today. i was told the w204 cars should have a 13mm pad in the rear but the coupe has a 17mm pad (4 bumps noted in pic)... therefore i switched to a 9mm pad for the correct spacing (8mm difference).

it sits perfect now.
