W204 NAVIGATION FOR INDIA
I BOUGHT C CLASS , W204, IN DEC 2011 AND IT IS FITTED WITH COMMAND SYSTEM. UNFORTUNATELY MB HAS NOT PROVIDED THE SOFTWARE FOR NAVIGATION THOUGH THE HARDWARE IS INSTALLED IN THE CARE. CAN ANYBOY HELP ME WITH THE RELEVANT SOFTWARE FOR THIS.

Very interested in this! can anyone help??

AFAIK only the s class and amgs come equipped with navigation in India.

But if its the same command system then is it only a matter of sourcing the correct dvd which contains the maps?

As expected, when i contacted mercedes benz india they were clueless!!

I do have the latest Map update 2012.2 V.10 Navigation DVD for C, GLK and SLS class Mercedes Benz.

hi can you give me this DVD and put it on ftp link or share site wherefrom I can download this. this would be a great favour for me.
I understand from MB dealership in India that for S Class they are gettingthe navigation software already installed in the command system which means that software is available for India anyway.
you can check up whether India maps are there in this or notand confirm.

why would you need a navi in India? Getting directions is so easy in India- just pullover and ask anyone on the road.

Ya, well said and Ishouldnot say butthat is correct that if I ask for one place an I ask forthe guidence tothe passers by then I reachanother place. so Navigation helps if you are out of your city.

W204 with comand now works with Navigation
Hi
MB dealership at Ahmedabad has put the Navigation software into my vehicle and it is working fine. thanks MB dealership for this.

Are you sure the Hardware is installed in the system? I have a 2012 c250 avantgarde but am not sure if the hardware is installed or not.How can you tell ? there is no option for navigation on my dash display.

If MB runs your VIN in their system they will be able to tell you if navigation is included and then ask MB to update the software. MB Kochi checked my car's VIN and subsequently upgraded the software which included the navigation. I am driving a 2011 C250 Avantgarde.

I did that, and firstly, the dealership gave me a number of someone else who was not part of the dealership which was surprising. Once I gave him the Chassis number, he said that the hardware was installed, and I just needed the software. He is expecting the 2014 cd soon, and if he gets it for free, he will not charge me. Do they normally charge for just the software ? Can I just get it done from the dealership directly ? Hopefully does not screw up the system. I Just dont feel like paying for the Navigation I guess when i can get for free ! Any inputs would be greatly appreciated.
