Ahh what should i do?

Just got two tint tickets in nyc. He measured me out to 28% front and back. Told me it needs to be higher then 70%

So now i got two summons to deal with now. What should i do? Pay to take it off or pay the judge with a fine?

All depends if you want to pay it once or again next time around?

I've never actually had a problem with tinted windows when I lived in NYC. Are you driving in a manner that gets cops to notice you? I ran 15% all around on my WRX and never had a problem. Honestly, if you really wanna save the hassle, get legal tint or take them off. I guess NYC is cracking down now.

I was stuck in nyc traffic (water st to be exact) i saw him just sitting in the car. Next thing u know he cuts everyone off. Gets on his pa. Benz pull over. He must be bored n so happens to have a tint apparatus. My alternative now is to talk to my guy. Get a remove reciept n submit.

I live on LI but drives into Queens everyday. I got stopped once at a checkpoint, they read my tints to be 35%. They were going to give me a summons but I had my 6 months crying in the back seat. The cop told me to thank my daughter for saving me $120 today.
Another time in my Subaru. Got pulled over just got the tints. Meter read at 55%(which is lighter than my benz). Gave me a ticket for one window only as a warning. I pleaded guilty and paid $90. Since this was in Queens, if I was to plead not guilty online and go to a hearing, they gave me a 1) weekday 2) smacked in the middle of the afternoon, 2:30pm 3) all the way down in south Queens by JFK.
If I was to take a day off from work or take a half day, travel all the way there, and I would probably still have to pay a surcharge and maybe a fine. It was just not worth it for me. So I gave them $90 and whenever I spot a cop, I roll down my front windows. Yes, even in the middle of winter. LOL!!

If it was towards the end of the month I would suspect quota. If you have a guy just get them to write up a receipt then next time be more cautious.

I'm very careful with my driving. Funny thing is I thought rear windows can be any tint. (Ny law) but hey we need to support our govt somehow right? Thanks for the feedback gentlemen.

Don't waste your time going to court. You'll end up losing and having to pay an additional court surcharge. Those cops on water street will always be there, so fix your tints or they'll continue to pull you over.
