Side Mirror problem

Hey guys,

I've had my car for one month now, and I've noticed that when I engage my car into reverse, only my passenger side mirror tilts downward. My driver side mirror doesn't tilt down at all, it just stays the same the whole entire time. Do I have to program the mirror or something or is something wrong? Sorry if this is a noob question, but I'm new to Mercedes and only had it for a month, so I'm still trying to figure things out.

Thanks Vince

You toggle the switch for selecting the sideview mirrors. Select drivers side if you want that tilting in reverse. Don't select either if you don't want either mirror tilting.

Is there a way I can have them both tilt down at the same time?

I thought only the passenger side mirror tilts down.

I'm guessing this is only the facelift w204s? My '08 doesn't do that

I'm speaking from experience with another vehicle. I have an 08 as well and have no experience with MB's tilting sideview mirrors. I don't think there is an option to tilt both. The mechanism is for street parking so you don't rub against the curb.

Also, a side-note thats on topic with mirror issues. Does anyone's mirror sometimes squeak when power folding out? Not a big deal but sounds bad.

My mirrors occasionally have that issue. I hope it isn't a symptom of imminent failure for the motors. This is why you don't see the auto folding mirrors after the *09 model.

Maybe they were reintroduced, but they were discontinued after the 09 model due to noise complaints.

Both folds when you turn off the car, only the passenger tilts when you engage reverse.
