4Matic working?

My apologies for such a silly question, but how does one know if the 4Matic system is working correctly?

I mean... I do have my ESP light that came up today, which means that something was spinning and to adapt my driving correct? But how does one truly know if the system (4Matic) is functioning correctly?

Best,

I don't get your question...

If you have a 4Matic car then it's working all/100% the time. Because 4Matic is permanent all wheel drive.

ESP light do come on when car detects wheel spin/slip.

Thx for the quick reply, I guess I wasn't clear.

If it would be working correctly, would something be posted then?

We had snow last night in Montreal and for the first time, since I got my 4matic, I was able to enjoy the four wheel drive. No there is no light of any kind except the esp light if you are slipping....But the four wheel drive obviously is working and it is fun!!!

Are you sure? Cause I was told the 4matic (all wheel drive) kicks in only when the car detects spin on rear wheels

Dear PM,

The clue that your 4Matic isn't working is, when you can not drive the car at all.

Sincerely,
-Alan
