Ipod interface cable for 2012 W204
hey guys
I got my car with multimedia package (or at least that's what I thought) lol but always wondered why I never got the ipod cable just like i did with my 09 c300. In my center console compartment all I have/see is the slot for USB and AUX jack hole. To install the ipod interface, do I only need the ipod cable and thats it???? or is there codes or sofware updates that need be done?? Hopefully it's just the cable lol
.....and where can i order it from other than the dealership??

when i plug in the apple usb cable for ipod, it just charges the phone but doesnt transfer the data and music from iphone to the car???? the only way i can play music from my phone is by bluetooth

If you can stream audio by BT then it means you have it for sure...I would just ask the dealer for a cable

yeah just buy the cable from the dealer, can't be that expensive. Cable pisses me off tho lol. Do you have a new iphone (or something close to it)? When i got the car, i decided to use my old nano (3 or 4 years old i think) just for music in my car. It lags when i change songs fast. For example, i'm on 1 track and i go forward 10 tracks fast and it shows the song title on the screen; it reverts back to the track that i was originally on!
but when i plug in my gf's new itouch, it doesn't happen.

I have an iPhone 4S. I'm starting to think its the phone .....i will visit the dealer Monday and with Benz even the smallest cable is like $200 
Just trying to somehow see the album work and track info on the screen like when I play music from the memory card

I dunno bout 2012 but my car, u can put a sd memory card in, and listen to music. Might b easier then constantly putting in you phone/ipod and then takin it out when you leave.

actually today i just realized that i had the apple usb cable plugged into the power outlet for the backseat so no the USB slot in the center console compartment doesnt charge my iphone as well? 
And yea i've been using the SD card as well as bluetooth streaming since i got the car lol and snowmuch that cable looks hard to install??
