C300: halogen to xenon

Hi,

I want to upgrade my stock halogen headlights to xenon. How can I do this and about how much will it cost? I also would like my fog lights to be xenon. Is it a do it yourself job? Any help is greatly appreciated. thx

- just wondering if all s550 come with xenon as standard?

Using the search function can easily get you all the answers you would need.

Anyway, most of us here runs on AZNOptics but since he is no longer carrying HID kits anymore, theretrofitsource is the next best option. Quality and service is excellent for both and is highly recommended.

Not all benz comes with standard xenon anymore. That's a marketing strategy benz comes up with to charge us more for xenons that Acuras come standard with. BS. But yea...YouTube W204 hid installation and theres a good DIY video.

appreciate your responses.. Yeah searched the thread but was not certain on which kit to buy. As you said most of the forum users chose AZNOptic but they stopped selling it. Ok I will check out the theretrofitsource. Also is it legal to have aftermarket xenons? According to a post to change the entire headlights to OEM xenons will cost upward of 3k and I don't think that includes labor-- that is ridiculous!!.

- Lesson learned next time when I purchase a car I will make sure it comes with factory xenons.

You need to check with your local state laws but in general, no, aftermarket HID kits are not legal. Most cops however won't hassle you granted you are not using some obnoxious color and/or basically driving a rolling hazard with glaring output.

Yes...next car has to have xenon. Thats also a lesson I've learned. If your worried about ut being illegal, 35watt 4300k~5000k should be enough.

DDM Tuning kits is all I have run in my cars for 7 years. Never a single issue. Lifetime warranty on everything just incase and half the price of the retrofit source.

Looks like they only have very high temperature. I'd like factory color (4300K?).

They have 3000k (yellow) which I run in my fogs all the way up to 15000k.
Look in accessories and under replacement bulbs and use the select bulb option and it lists all colors. They have 4500 which as close to stock as you'll get.

If you do a 65w ballast (which I have) the bulb color will be washed out so my 6000k with 65w ballasts look like a 4300k but are super bright.
