Cool From Luxury to Sport (Build Thread)

Editing, hold on guys.

Hey all,

I've learned so much since I've been a member here. I thought that I should share my mini-mods as time has progressed during the ownership of this vehicle. All except for the last bit were DIY initiatives.

I bought a 2008 C300 Luxury because I loved the tan interior, but wanted the exterior Sport look. Here's how my conversion has gone so far, along with various mini-mods...

First purchased:

First mod; clear side markers and LEDs:

SLK-style grill:

LED eye-lids:

From Luxury to Sport (Build Thread)-xffoljv.jpg

HID Xenons -- don't worry, lens flair; obviously not this bright:

New version of the side-view mirrors -- arrow-type:

Trunk spoiler lip:

LED turn-signal tail-lights:

Tints:

From Luxury to Sport (Build Thread)-tddmcau.jpg

Sport front bumper -- note the lacking fog lights; working on that now:

I should be good to go for a bit after my fog assemblies and LED H7 fogs are installed.

One "mod" not mentioned but still useful in my opinion:

- Bluetooth A2DP music streaming with track changing

I'll update this thread as I update my car.

Cheers all!

I definitely think that begins the next steps...

I'll need to get a Sport bumper, then a CF diffuser, then quad tips...

Somebody correct if/when I'm wrong, but didn't Luxury come with a different grill and an upright star on the hood?

True in US. I think, the OP started with a used '08 lux model that already had the sport grill and emblem change. He made it sportier by changing the sport grill to the SLK style grill (mono bar), and adding the oem sport lower front grill .

Good work. If you are going to upgrade the sideskirts, get C63 style side skirts and not the the ones that come with sport model, they look much better and cleaner finish. I'm looking to do that to my car sometime in the future

Thanks for the tip! Any advice on where to pick one up? I'll save it for later after my bumper and cf diffuser I think.

Souveneer or whatever his username is he carries C63 style body kits for non AMG's. Should be under $300 for both sides

Nicely done. I assume it's not a 4MATIC ?

______________ *** All Members, New and some Old *** _______________

please click on User CP at the top left of page, just below the thread title. Then add the following to either Profile and/or Signature , selecting buttons on the left side of that page:

year, model, if it's a diesel, Sport or Lux, 4MATIC or RWD, Location (city & state), and non-US country if applicable.

This helps others respond to issues, like tires, spring options, part sales, etc. Thanx

Even after enduring 38" of snow, I was still able to dig out my car from a 5 foot wall of snow, and install my LED fog lights.

Installed a roof spoiler, replaced the crappy looking silver center rim caps and tire cap covers, and placed gun-metal Lamin-x over the fogs. More to come, as always.

I dont know why but its bugging me that your license plate isn't centered. How do you have it attached if you dont mind me asking.

I attached it via cable ties (aka zip ties; but I believe those are sturdier?).

As of now, though, I removed this and used the tow hook plate holder instead, which is offset to the passenger's side. I quite like it.
