How can I remove iPod cord and get Aux. input back?

Hi Everyone,

Just got my 'new' car two days ago (09 C300 4matic lux) and am very, very happy with it! One thing I'd like to fix right away is that in the glove box there is no Aux jack, but rather an iPod adapter cord coming out of the side of the glovebox and nothing else whatsoever. I don't have an iPod, nor do I want one, so I'd like to remove this item and just have the standard 2.5mm audio input jack which I believe is the "standard" setup. (I have a bluetooth receiver that I want to plug into the aux input in order to stream audiobooks from my Android phone, a setup that I've had working nicely in my BMW up to now...).

Is this something I can do myself? If so, I'd really appreciate it if someone could point me to some detailed instructions.

(This is my first post on this forum. I have searched this and other forums, but can't find any information about REMOVING the iPod cord--only some info about adding it. I apologize in advance if I've missed something that's already posted somewhere!)

Many thanks!

Most of the time- the Aux jack is hidden behind the panel. Open you door and the panel on the side of the dash can be removed. The Aux cable/outlet is usually hidden there since ALL vehicles come equipped with that as standard.

This might help the OP gain access to the cables (I know AkaSig knows how to do it) :
