I am new to this forum. I am having a 2008 C300 and it looks like I need to replace the Engine coolant thermostat (CEL with P0128). Can some one help me to point me to any DIY link that shows how to replace the thermostst on 2008 C300?

 

I too have a 2008 c300 with the same p0128 code. If anyone can provide some info about how to change the thermostat that would be awesome and highly appreciated. Also, how would we know if its actually the thermostat and not the coolant sensor that has gone bad? I recall getting the same code on my wife's c230 and changing the coolant sensor on a whim and fixing the issue. Again, thanks in advance for anyone that can provide some insight.

 

I have the same code on my 2007 c280 and just went the other day and got the new thermostat for 200$ from the dealer. Im also looking for diy instructions. I guess one way u can tell if ur thermostat stayed open is by ur engine temp. Gage mine never reaches the proper temperature.
