Hey,

I'm a new owner of a 2013 C300 Sedan, this is my first new model year vehicle, so I have a couple questions:

When does the aftermarket begin to open up for these types of vehicles? Stuff like rear diffusers, headlights, etc. I can find them for 2012 and below, but not 2013.

Also, I've heard so much about the the 2013 C300 3.5l engine being nearly identical to the 2013 C350 3.5l, with the only difference being a ECU tune. Is there any company working on getting this sort of tune to the market? Or any actual facts about the ~54 HP difference between the models? I've searched quite a bit, but could only find a handful of threads on the topic, and google isn't helping me that much either.

If I'm not mistaken I thought the 2012 and 2013 were the same? I'm not positive though.

Other than the engine, cruise control lever and a couple of color changes, the 2013 is the same as the 2012. Any exterior items are the same - 2013 is the second year of the facelifted W204.

Thanks for the reply, so when people refer to "Pre-facelift" they are referring to pre-2012 W204's?

Yes, 2011 and older.

The rear diffuser on the 2013 is different then the 2012 as well.

They 2013 and 2012 are exactly the same from the exterior other than the blue efficiency badge on the MY12. Rear diffusers differ on the 12-13 compared to the 08-11

The 2013 looks like the side markers are more horizantal from side to side not up and down (if that makes any sense ) lol

This is true but only applicable to the C63. The non AMG cars have the current reflector as of MY12+

I emailed a few sellers they told me it would not fit for some reason but if your saying that the side markers are the same then i dont see why not right?

Well I would like to clarify and say that those vertical will fit every C63. But will only fit the 08-11 models for the C300/350. The "horizontal" side markers are not compatible with the old ones and haven't been released in a clear version. The new ones are different sizes all together and only fit the 12-13 C250/300/350 Sedan and Coupe.

No one has any idea about the similarities between the engines? I've heard that the brakes in the C350 are bigger, but in Canada the C300 4matics have the C350 brakes anyways, so the similarities between the C300 and C350 up here may be even greater.

Congratulations on the new car!

I honestly wouldn't worry about the engine. That is a great engine you have. While they bring the power down about 20 percent, they only bring the torque down about 8 percent versus a 350.

As you know, they quote only a .1 second 0-60 difference despite the weight of the 4Matic.

Therefore, I say enjoy that extremely strong engine as delivered.

I pick her up in about 2 weeks time, and needless to say I'm extremely excited. I have no doubts in the engine as is, and will likely not touch anything mechanical until my warranty is up. I do plan on doing some exterior modifications, maybe white LED side markers, putting some plasti-dip on the front lip, possibly a C63 style diffuser, quad tips and maybe a black trunk lid spoiler.

Maybe all of that over the course of the next year or two, for now I just want to get my hands on it!
