I assume that "friend end" is an auto-correct for "front-end". Yes, I had the front bumper installed afterward.

Yes that's what I meant haha. How much was the sport front bumper? Did you take off the chrome molding around the outside of the car?

Cost: Only $200 I believe from a member of this forum.

Chrome molding: Yup, I took that off not too long ago. I left it on the rear bumper though since there's an indentation surrounding the chrome trim.

Does it look weird taking chrome modeling off along the doors ?

Not at all. Almost as if it were never intended to be there.

@xjaymzzx -- I looked at the vinyl tape, and I am not sure how that will look exactly. Tape in the middle of clear coated black paint on either side makes me think that it won't blend very nicely. Plus, the chrome does have grooves -- I feel like it would take a lot of skill to make a finicky person such as myself happy.

Plasti dip w/ gloss should work fine.

How did you take your moldings off and was their residue left behind?

And I think we might be talking about the different chrome trim ... I'm taking about the trim runs like a little under the middle of the door not around window.

I removed the lower chrome trim. Its easy. Hair dryer and fishing line. Window trim, just vinyl wrap it

Idk I didn't think sport had chrome moldings on the doors

I'm just worried when I take it off it won't look right since there like a dip where the molding was....

Both Sport and Luxury have the chrome moldings on the doors. No, there is no dip.

No need to use a hair dryer, just use 10+ lbs fishing line, then buff the residue off with Meguiars.

By the way slowc, isn't the pollen here driving you crazy? I wash my car one day, and BAM, that afternoon, my car is caked with pollen. Ridiculous...

I'm in Richmond now.

So what are you doing with the bumper? Are you going to try and get that bumper you were talking about and get it installed?

Possibly! I wanna check your car out man. I'm about 45 mins from you... Found a VIP c63 body kit off of ViS racing might scoop that up but I have someone that has a hook up for air ride might go that route first...

Stupid question I'm looking at people with chrome trim removed on their sport model looks clean! But I don't know if its diff wit the luxury model? And my one issue holding me back is the dip the molding fills.... Or is their no dip?! Ahhhh

There is no dip.

Take a look at the pic that I uploaded onto this thread from earlier.
