ASAP answer please!! Is 15" with winter wheels too small for w204 2012?

Hello

Im going to get my new w204 2013 c class which is 1.300 km away but it has no winter wheels with , but i found some cheap wheels for sale in the same city as where i am heading to get the car, and they have dimensions:

205/60-15 Nokia

I wonder if they are too small for the car? I have made some research, but im not sure and afraid to maybe if the brake calipers take on the wheels and i would need some spacer?

I just need to drive the car home with those wheels actually, got some 17" here. (im flying to get the car, so taking the wheels with me is not an option :P)

I'm not positive with this but most likely they wont fit past the brakes especially if they have the sports breaks.

No they will not fit - even 16 are too small for my car with the bigger Canadian brakes.

Wow okay, im in Europe and dealer says 16" fits no problem ? But i was just curious about the 15" .

I just found a 16" set winter 5x112 Passat wheels, which should fit the C class aswell without problems right?

Rims dimension: 7/16 , 5 x 112
Tyres dimension 205/55x16

You better research the offset. There is more to this than size, bolt pattern, etc.

I researched and found out it is around 45-47mm offset? Is this good enough?

Man, 15" is suitable for a Civic and not for a C class coupe... it would be a shame to put 15" wheels on a C class coupe, according to me.

The offsets will work, but you need to know what bore/center hub size the Passat wheels are. VW uses 57.1 IIRC so if they were specifically made for the Passat and no hub centering rings were used, they won't fit our cars' 66.56 hub.

I think the wheel capacity is based on the bolt size and number. The shame could be only from pride, not from danger.

That said, it would be best to use 16" oem for proper fit. I got some 16" x 6.5" Mazda-3 wheels with 50mm offset to work fine.

Someone said it's best to stay in the Mazda family when looking for alternate style/size wheels. I found that to be true. I switched from oem 17" to Mazda-3, 16" x 6.5" 52.5mm, with 215-55 tires and no clearance problem.

But that was not the case when I wanted to do a similar downsize from 17 to 16" wheels, going from oem to TireRack wheels. Very close to rubbing front caliper. C-Class, TireRack 16" fit

My advice is do what you can to prefit 1 wheel 1st, and check up front for caliper clearance.

Offset matters, check out this illustration. Offset Illustration

Note that if the caliper is a fixed distance from the hub face, and the main bore of the wheel is tapered as shown, then going with LESS offset may help get a smaller wheel to fit and clear caliper.

Ok so now I thought I could skip the issues and found some w203 winter wheels to fit on the w204.

But after googling, I found out they probably wont fit?? I only found answers from people mounting w204 wheels on their w203, but will fitting w203 wheels on the w204 be a problem?

I guess so since it is a problem for them to mount w204 on their w203...... What do i need to make the w203 fit the w204 ?? Longer bolts or shorter bolts and whats the deal with that spacer thing....

**** i just need to drive it down, and its so complicated finding wheels and I made everything to not spend 2050 $ for some new winter wheels for the car, that the seller wanted me to buy....

The wheels are 16"s

UPDATE:
I found out that the bolt holes are 12.5mm on the w203 16" wheels and it takes 12mm bolts, and w204 requires 14mm bolts is this true and can i do something about it?!

I'll try to skip all this headache now and contact the dealer and say that on the 18" amg summer wheels that I get, that instead he should switch the tires to some winter tires and keep the summer tires... then when i have drove down i can fix it back myself with other summer tires..

This must work :P right ?

Yes, he was referring to the Passat wheels.
As for your last question regarding using the 18" AMG wheels and swapping tires, yes, they will work obviously since they are an option.
Going forward, if you have to deal with wheels again, stick to the specs vs asking whether one brand or model will work on your car. It'll take away all confusion.
Specs for our w204s:
Center bore: 66.56
Bolt Pattern: 5x112
Offset: mid-to-high 40s

As others have said, when down-sizing, you'll probably have to test fit one wheel to see if the brake calipers will clear.

Yeah totally forgot to update you guys. I picked up the dream car with winter tyres on the 18" rims - so it worked, the dealer could give me winter tires and keep the summer tires, but he required little under 200 $s extra. That's ok, got some brand new Continental Ice contact tires with "spikes" on it

That really gave me a ridiculous good grip on the 1300 km I got to drive, and it was really hard snow up there (in Sweden, drove all the way north to south where I live)

Now I am a happy owner and the brand new W204 is in the warm garage downstairs :-)
