Exclamation FOR THOSE WITH COILOVERS !!!

I just installed h&r coilovers and I found that the rear coils can only be adjusted by removing the spring... Is there any other way of adjusting the height without removing the spring ?

The usual way of adjusting rears is like the front with adjusting nuts on it, but I guess access in place is not possible. Sometimes they are installed up-side-down for access to the adjusters.

Not sure I understand. Is it as kevin states and its just the matter of having no room? You should have a bit of space albeit the process is gonna be lengthy. Invest in a spring compressor if anything so your job is easier. I'll be borrowing my friend's when his comes in so I can remove my collars. Sadly the megans I'm running on still has a 2 finger gap in the rear when bottomed out.

You shouldn't need to remove the spring, you should be able to jack the rear up relieving the load in the rear, take off the wheel and adjust the perches.

Does the spring perch for the rear springs go on the bottom? Or does it go on the top of the spring in place of the spring pad?

If I remember correctly, the spring pads must be removed when installing coilovers. And if they do in fact replace the spring pad, then I see no other way to do height adjustment in the rear unless you remove the entire rear spring.

Yea I had to remove the spring pad and the perch is hidden in where the the spring pad was ... If this is what I have to do then this sucks

That's how I had to do it when I adjusted it. Sucks big time. I got used to doing the back though. Takes no more than 30 min to do each side.

Not a good idea. Consider if installing them up-side-down is possible, and if it gives better adjustment access.

You should just set it once. And remember that 1/2" at the spring is about 1.5" at the wheel, due to the MR (motion ratio).

And call H&R @ Toll Free (888) 827-8881 I promise they will not yell at you, they are pleased you bought their system.

I wouldn't do that!

Check out this thread from the C63 forum:

He adjusts his coils without disassembling the rear suspension. Pictures are missing but I think the post is detailed enough.

EDIT: Google has some of the pictures cached.
