Getting the OE Tune - '11 C300 4M

As the title states, I have an appointment this coming Friday at Lomotion Automotive (224 Overocker Rd, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603) to have my ECU flashed with the OE Tuning software.

Projected gains are around +15-20 whp/tq.

Can't wait! I'll post my butt dyno results here!

I feel the c300 is detuned to hell. Even a ECU tune won't make it faster than a c350, such a shame really. Enjoy it for what it is .

Tell me how it goes and any performance improvements. I have the same year and also a 4MATIC and was looking into doing the same.

I actually read another thread on here where a guy says he's looking to get 300whp out of his C300, and another member very thoughtfully explains that MB engines are very well tuned from the factory, as far as displacement/power ratio.

So I disagree that the engine is detuned. That's why there is so little that can be done to add power aside from adding forced induction such as turbo or supercharger.

ECU tune is probably the best bang for the buck you will get on the C300. I/H/E together won't yield close to the same results.

As promised, I have recorded a 0-80mph run after 75 mile adaptation period following my OE Tuning ECU flash.

Overall I'm very pleased. Mod definitely added some more torque throughout the entire RPM range and especially in the mid-range, where it really needed it.

Seems I get up to speed a bit quicker. Let me know what you think.

Im curious if any members have had a chance to review the video and notice improvement in acceleration vs their stock car? Am I over-zealous in my analysis? Car definitely SEEMS faster...

You were not clear what you wanted, me thinks.

1) What was your 0-80 time for you car ?

2) What are 0-80 times for others ?

3) Assume you have a RWD 3L, right?

4) Do you have a link to the vendor's dyno results?

For a 15 whp and 20 wtq gains, you should be able to see some 0-80 improvement, but not much. This is because at 80mph, the drag is really sucking up hp. The hp needed to hold speed against drag is proportional to the cube ( ^3) of velocity.

.

It would have been better if OP would have done measurements (dyno, 0-60, 1/4 mile etc.) before doing the tune. Otherwise it is just your butt dyno that is talking and, as we all know, that is not the most accurate machine in the world.

Exactly. Where is the video before the tune so that we can compare?

I apologize that I could not give a video before the tune. I guess I was assuming you could hop in your own car and use that as a reference.

Using a basic stopwatch, I'm estimating 0-80 of around 9.6 seconds?
0-60 seems shy of 6 seconds.

As the title states, this is a C300 4Matic, so 3.0L AWD.

I think you'll find what you're looking for, including dyno from the vendor, here:
http://oetuning.com/blog/?tag=c300

Sorry if this was confusing, just wanted to share ...

It's kind of hard to tell the 0-60 time from your video because you didn't do it from a straight dead start. You were turning/moving.

Anyway, I now it's not scientific. Glad you like it.

Our C300 4matic seems a bit slow to me. On the other hand, the 2012 C300 4matic loaner that I'm driving right now appears more peppy, but I don't have any numbers to back it up, just butt dyno.

Call the shop i mentioned in the OP. Ask to speak with the tuner, he works closely with the dev at OE. He should be able to give you a definitive response.
