Think I finally got information on the CGI turbo

After alot of sifting and googling, I think I finally found the brand of turbo's used on the CGI engines. Seems they are made by IHI based off a part number I came across from one of my searches (IHI A271 0903480). I have already shot off an email to IHI asking for information on the specs of the turbo's, hopefully they are the manufactures and reply to me. Both Garett and Borg replied but don't seem to know anything about the Benz turbo's.

Good work!

It will be interesting to see if the C250 has a different turbo than the C200 or C180. Or if the only difference is the factory tune.

I've never heard of IHI - hopefully they are a reputable firm.

Well one member has confirmed that the part numbers are different for the turbo's between the models so one would assume that they are different parts. I'm speculating that 180/200 owners might be able to run the 250 turbo (maybe the injectors if needed) and see gains. In any case I'm still waiting for a reply from IHI.

We had a customer have an issue with their C250 that required the turbo to be removed and it is made by IHI, I don't know anything beyond that but I can confirm its made by IHI.

?
Look at the list. All of the other part #s have manufacturers listed (Garrett, Borg, etc). It shows the manufacturer as Mercedes-Benz but it appears from the previous post they are IHI who is a major supplier of OEM turbos.

I didn't want to assume anything from the link you provided but glad that we had someone that could confirm it. Now just waiting for IHI to reply. However from another thread I saw, the turbo and manifold are actually one piece, not sure if this will be beneficial or not for us that would want to work on the turbo portion of the car in the future.

Edit- Here the pic of our turbo.
