Project C300 rocket

Hey guys. Picked up a 08' C300 sport about 3 months ago. So far the car has been amazing. But then I started to think what mods were available for the car? I pretty much came to a wall. There's really NOTHING for these cars for performance aftermarket. Heard there used to be a supercharger, but I'm guessing lack of sales halted the production. But I think with enough money you can achieve anything. I've been mainly working on the appearance so far with the hope that I come across something worthy of purchase to increase performance.

Modifications so far:

20% tint on rear passenger windows & 35% tint on driver side/passenger window.
Seibon Carbon Fiber spoiler (not sure what style it is. Doesn't look c63)
19" Vossen CVS 3 - Graphite finish - will refinish to 2 tone (black inner barrel and spokes a different color)

Mods in the next month:

H&R Super Sport lowering springs - Being installed next week
Carbon fiber diffuser - Ordered through JL motoring.. should be here next week.

I have one question though. I have been considering the Eisenmann Race exhaust.. well actually I really want one on my car. Does anyone have any experience with how much performance it would add? They say 35% more airflow which is a huge increase but how does that translate to horse power or torque? The diffuser I ordered should be here next week and that's the first step to the exhaust project. I know the eisenmann exhaust may not change much without a tune or other parts, but the tune is the last thing I'll be doing.

If anyone knows of any companies making performance parts for this car let me know. Would be interested in headers, and internals.

P.S. I know theres a c63 available and the net value of all these upgrades plus the car will probably cost more then a c63 but a v8 engine is just not viable when I drive 700-1000kms a week. Maybe i'll get one for joy rides later in life

Thanks

If I bought the car new I would have. But I bought it used off a Jaguar/Landrover dealership. I may get the roof painted or vinyl wrapped a gloss black.

Just wondering if anyone can chime in on the question about the eisenmann race exhaust. What kind of gains could I expect?

Thanks!

Not much gain in HP at all. At the most 10 HP. Our exhausts are already very good from the factory. Most owners buy them for the look and sound and not performance. It's much cheaper to just do an X-pipe and quad tips with prettying the same end result.

The black wheels contrast really nicely with white!

I'm going to assume that would be without a tune? Renntech does a tune that with an unmodified engine does 15 ish hp for something like $1300 and with the exhaust I probably could expect better gains as well? But to get the full benefit I would probably need performance headers too? Or would the stock ones be fine? The only difference is this car is going to be somewhat of a show car so I'd rather not cheap out just to get a similar sound/appearance without the added benefit of 35% extra air flow. I'm definitely looking at all options if anyone can point me in the direction of other performance sites for these cars... even if they're mostly based in Europe.

@rshah31 - thanks but they're graphite. May get them painted black for a better appearance though!

Correct, if you just swap the exhaust you won't feel much of a gain at all. If you do a tune and headers you will most definitely have a gain of 30+ HP. It's a lot of money to spend on such small gains though. It's hard to justify $3000-4000 for such a small increase in power IMO

Yeah but that's modding a Mercedes for ya.. I could go buy an import and put that into it and get double the hp gains. But I've already sunk $4500 into this car and I really don't mind putting in more. Love the car and is love to see it with a twin turbo or single turbo set up. Not sure what I'm gonna do yet.

No I definitely didn't either but I think its a little underestimated. I think possibly down the road it will be a more viable car to mod but right now its just mostly appearance. The chassis is still relatively new.. if I have to custom a turbo set-up or supercharger it will still happen but that will be the last.. Have to do all the supporting mods first.

Here's a couple things I was able to dig up..
There are a few choices for an ecu for the ecu including Kleemann, renntech, and evomsit. Kleemann offers parts for the c350 which also apply to the c300. Cheaper alternatives are as follows:

Ecu: http://www.eurocharged.com/products/...grammer-detail

Or*

Ecu: http://www.gmpperformance.com/index....ID=233193&VS=1

Or

Ecu: http://www.eurocharged.com/products/...oftware-detail

Headers: http://www.sparktecmotorsports.com/o...tm_content=pla

Exhaust: http://www.vividracing.com/catalog/2...1-p-48004.html
*
Or

Exhaust: http://www.eurosportdesign.com/p-446...-exhausts.aspx

That is exactly what I needed! Definitely looking into the Headers and Eurocharged ECU! What Kleeman parts also apply to the 300? If the supercharger could be made to work I'd definitely be interested.

Thanks

Kleemans k3 upgrade for the c350 and c300 includes an ecu tune, camshafts, headers, and I think maybe an exhaust I'm not sure tho as you cant access the e-store in America. I was able to e-mail kleemann to confirm the parts will work for the 300 because it has the same m272 motor just different bore

Then couldn't I technically (even if its unrealistically pricey). Get my engines machined to have a higher displacement?

I used to be a Honda guy, and with Hondas you could port and bore out your engines so I don't see why it couldn't work. Definitely something to look into down the road later in the year when I run out of things to do. Lol.

P.S. more parts are in & some work being done tomorrow and over the weekend.
