Damaged AMG wheels, Insurance package won't replace... help

Hey guys, so I have a 2011 C300 sport 4matic with the 18" AMG wheel package. Last week I drove over one of those steel plates that constuction crews lay over holes in the road and head a strange noise... Come to find out while washing the car the next day that I put a decent sinced notch into my driver's front wheel and a good scuff on the rear. Both are damaged along the lip. So I bring it to the dealership where I bought it from 6 months ago and had purchased the $900-1000 Wheel and Tire Insurance per the recomendation of the finance guy for situations such as this. After a couple days I get a phone call and and am told that they replaced my Perrelli Nero tire, but would not replace the wheels due to them still holding air...

SO, my question for you fine folks is what the heck should I do now? I was under the impression that this insurance would cover ANY damage, not just damage that caused an air leak. Though they may not seem like a big deal to some of you, I'm willing to bet that the majority of you would agree with me that these are just unacceptable now...

Any advise?

I'm going to try to attach photos from when I first noticed the damage before washing my car.

You must have recieved an insurance letter regarding the terms of the insurance, what does it say about rim damage?

Its not likely but the rim may have been warped, in that case the rim should be replaced or repaired no questions asked.

I will have to pull out my contract and see, but I was under the impression from what the finance guy told me that any and all damage was covered. Now they are saying that they are not damaged "enough."

Unfortunately, the guys at the dealership will always make things sound as sweet as possible to get you to spend more.
It all comes down to the actual terms on the agreement...unless you happen to have audio/video of him explicitly telling you the "everything" is covered...then you would have some recourse to go after the dealership.
Professional wheel repair guys should have an easy time fixing the damage.
Like Vic said, make sure they inspect them well to see if there are structural issues which should then be covered by your plan.

That's why you shouldn't go by what the finance guy says. You should always read what the insurance actually covers. The finance guys are just out to add as many extras as possible because they get a commission on it.

When you buy wheel damage coverage it is from potholes and things like that. These claims hardly ever get put through because it is usually on the error of the driver.. or though they will tell you.

That damage is nothing... go to a wheel shop and have it fixed right up. It will not cost much at all! Sorry about the rim though... I wish we could always have our cars look like they did in the showroom........

Thanks for the quick replies guys. I will be calling my finance guy tomorrow to hopefully get to the bottom of this...

I didn' know that wheels could be repaired... What would you guess it would cost me to have the two wheels repaired if I can't get them replaced?

Heads up, a machined wheel is alot more expensive to repair than a "regular" wheel.

Probably $100 each would be my guess for that.
