I drive what I drive
Das C Class build

Hi Everyone,

Don't let my screen name confuse you.. long time board member here when I use to surf this board with my w202. Bought my '13 C250 on 8/2/13 which was an upgrade from my W140 S420. The weekend I bought my car I took it up on a trip to Las Vegas and it was ultra comfortable and super fun. It was a fast way of getting to my 1,000 mile mark for the break in. . So far I love this car but won't be spending too much money on it as I currently have a couple of other cars I am working on.

I currently have two other cars of which one I bought when I was 19 yrs old (2005 STI) with double the horsepower. And my newer project car which is a 1996 Miata that I am almost done with. We also have a GLK350 but is my girlfriends; which I also enjoy driving and washing, lol.

I have always loved performance cars and anything turbo. I have good knowledge with turbo cars and suspension work, so don't hesitate to ask if you have a question.

I will be posting better pictures soon and giving a little background on my other cars and my prior cars.

My Ride:

2013 Mercedes C250

Specifications:
792 Palladium Silver
901 Black mb/Dinamica w/ Red Stitching
739 Aluminum Trim
889 Keyless-Go
P01 Premium I Pkg
320 Multimedia Pkg
333 Sport Sedan
956 Sport Pkg

Modifications:
28% Solar Gard Tint (5 windows)
70% Solar Gard Tint (Windshield)
BurgerTuning JB+ Tuner
BurgerTuning BMS Performance Intake

Next:
Front lip
Rear window spoiler

For my trip to vegas, I taped up the whole front end. I would of been pissed with chip marks within the first 300 of my cars life:

It did save my paint actually. I noticed there were chips on one layer of the tape since I double layered it on; fortunately my bumper was completely unharmed

It might have saved some finer sand chips but your clear coat is harder than that tape. So dings in the tape may not have dinged the paint. The 3M protector that people put on is like Plexiglas and thus protects. No harm done in being careful though. Could have passed for a test car out in the desert lol!! Cheers.

I agree with you completely but I wanted to be safe than sorry. Damn desert sand and big rigs always seem to aim at my cars on long road trips, bad luck I guess. I also made it appoint that I stayed far away from the car in front to make sure they didn't kick anything up at me as well. Hopefully that helped!!

I agree... I always back off and leave room. One rock fired by a truck can do a lot of damage that is a pain to fix. My Acura was sprayed once by a dump truck.. Insurance tried to charge me $300 for each rock chip as each rock was deemed a separate incident. Obviously I argued and won. We have a lot of construction right now where I live and roads are a mess. Have to be careful.

Ah yes, construction makes it 10x worse in my area. Thinkin about putting my car away for a couple of weeks until they are done. I am pretty serious about keeping my front end looking good!!

Get a 3M application on the front end then... My buddy has it on his audi. You wouldn't even see it on your colour.

Speaking of my front bumper - does anyone have experience with fighting the dealership for drilling license plate holes? I received my new license plates and I was removing my front one, and noticed there is not holder; they drilled three holes right through the bumper. Kind of upsetting...any thoughts?

I was going to, but my cousin that had 3M on his 2006 G35 and said that his turned yellow. He started noticing the color change in 2011 about 5 years after installed. Have any experience with it?

Yes, the sun can be hard on it. If it's on a white car you notice it for sure if you car is primarily an "outside car". If you have it outside while at work only then it will last a lot longer. It's worth it.

Here are some new pictures I just took right now:

My intake and JB+ tune wire. Picture kind of sucks but you get the point. Wondering if I should of routed the wires differently to hide it more...hmmm:

I removed the block plate that MB used since the C250 only has one intake tube. I removed it to allow more air to hit the turbo, I hope this makes a difference especially at night and winter time:

Here is my 70% windshield tint in the shade, looks pretty dark:

Dealer did not allow me to drive the car off the lot until the license plate holders for the front & back are installed. SA insisted it is required by law and they installed them for free.
Ding and paint chips...well you tell me about it! Away I go off the Dealer lot for the first time to take the 6 miles drive home. I got the first ding on the hood less than a mile away followed by a couple of (tic, tic) stone chips in the front windshield from wife's car well away in front of me at the speed of 45 mi. I decided to stay clear, off the backroad and took the 3 miles stretch on the freeway when I heard a very loud thud. Something just hit the car hard, I mean really hard and it scared me. I pulled over to investigate and realized darn semi 3-4 cars ahead on a slow lane was running on a flat rear tire and tossing pieces of rubber on its trail I noticed a big blob dust mark on the front windshield. Good thing no cracks, though. Seriously, all these crap happened to me knowing I just got the car off the dealer lot. Sigh, can't help it. It is what it is for me

They have to by law if it is the law to have a front plate.

I would route the wiring under the intake pipe as the pipe shifts upwards under acceleration. Also looks like your filter needs cleaning. Have you checked for the rubbing issue?
