Thinking about blacking out my W204 Sports grille but...
I have a question. I can see that the VHT hood and bumper spray paint is the one of choice. Are there any other brands of spray paint that can be used that would make the grille as good?
Let me know.

My car goes thru automatic car wash. I have no driveway or garage as I live in a condo in Jersey City. In fact, I don't have a backyard either because I live in the high floors so I am at the mercy of automatic car wash.

I just did my grill in black but kept the chrome strips. Originally I used PlastiDip to see if I liked the results since it is easy to remove if I did not like the look. i found that within a week of having the PlastiDip on it had some scratches and chips from road debris.
I liked the look and then popped the grill out (5 minutes) and pealed off the PlastiDip , removed the chrome strips and wiped the grill with alcohol and a quick hit with a prep pad. If you want to completely black it out including the chrome Id still remove them and paint them seperatly and replace so you dont have any chance of silver showing up behind the strips. I used Krylon Plastic Paint in a Satin Black to paint it , 4 coats and dry in in less than 1 hour and back on the car . The whole job took less than 2 hours from start to finish.
Its been more than 2 weeks now and over 1500 miles of freeway driving and the grill looKs perfect.
