hi all
I upgraded my 09 c300 to 7'' monitor and navi.
I need a permit code which called "Vedoc" to update the software of the car. But the manager in MB dealer knows nothing about it.
Please help if anyone know the process to get the code

You need to perform a SCN coding (Software Calibration Number), an authorized dealer must know what this is.

Hi Vic. Thanks for reply. I talked with the manager today but he still do not know how to get the Vedoc. Such a idiot guy.
Could you please tell me something more about the code?
Like which department the manager have to contact and what information he has to provide?

Every authorized dealer have access to the VeDoc (vehicle documentation) system, in there you can add or subtract SA codes, you need to enter 512 or 527 wether you have changer or not.

Then when you code the vehicle the Xentry diagnose system picks up the added code from the central database and adds it to the required control unit.

However, you do not need to enter those code to make the systems work, Everything should work except for navi directions in the Instrument Cluster.

but your car comand is ntg4
do not need update code.

indeed this is a first. i never needed a code when i did the NTG4 retrofit

From what i understood dealers cant just add codes it has to be requested from MB directly to add into vedoc and unless its a supported upgrade like rear seat entertainment, they will not add it. The dealers shop foreman would have the most info on it.

Hi Vic, I went to the dealer couple times, But the manager said he did not find anywhere to add the code.
Could you please tell me how to guide them to add the code? I show him your reply, he said it make sense, but he still cannot find where to add it.
And, I bought the DVD disk today. But the Head Unit shows that the DVD does not fit my car.
Is that means I have to update the Vedoc first? then, I can update the Map?

You should find another dealer, sounds like they have no idea what they are talking about. The DVD should work programmed or not, you must have gotten the wrong disc.

Yes you may update map using anyone DVD disk but it need 4 digit code which will provide by MB only. Its cost around $600 for that code.

Only NTG 4.5 needs authorization code.

Does the dvd, radio, backup camera works after you retrofit ? (Apart from scn code)

I did not install the backup camera, the everything works great. I am waiting for the update of the map and car system.

I found a new dealer.The part manager said he sent email to MB for code of changing Vedoc.
Is he in the right direction?
Do you know how long it will be takes for the respond from MB?
