Are Hankooks good tires?

Looking to buy new set of tires:: I am considering to buy Hankook Ventus S1 noble2--- these have very good ratings according to tirerack. Does anyone have these tires? Also pls reccomend to me other brands that are good..

You looking for all season or summers? S1 are ok for all season, but most go with V12 summers. Hankook is ok for the price point, but do tend to get noisy, at least the few sets I've gone through.

Other brand suggestions will depend on what kind of budget you're looking for and if looking for summer or all seasons. Personal favorite is the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2, but those are a bit pricier. For cheaper options I like Toyo Proxes 1 and even cheaper, Sumitomo HTR Z III, although Sumis had about the same road noise as Hankook after 15K, but acceptable for the price.

They came on my used 2010 C300 Sport 4Matic and I have no complaints. Just city driving, and we usually have the radio on anyways. No obvious road noise.

appreciate your responses, yeah I am looking for all season tires... I am trying to decide between Hankook Ventus S1 noble2 and Pirelli P Zero Nero All Season. The Pirelli are about 70 bucks more for a set than the Hankooks. Does anyone have Pirelli's p zeros on their car, how are they and do you recommend them? Please feel free to suggest other brands of all season tires.

yeah the Michelin Pilot PS2 are pricey--- they cost around $ 800 for a set. How about the Pirelli P Zero Nero All Season , the price is around 500 bucks.

Tires

Have had 2 sets of Pirelli P Zero Nero's. Nice tire but gets noisy. Recommend Continental DWS---all season. Had them on my E350 and just bought a new set for my 2013 C250 COUPE. Good grip, good ride, good wear, quiet, good price.

Read reviews @ Tirerack.com

In this all season category, the recently launched Michelin Pilot Sport AS3 are the new king of the hill.

Michelin AS/3

Agree that the AS/3's have some great specs. Was going to get them for my C250 COUPE. After reading everything possible--Tirerack etc. found that they are the best wet/dry tire. There are many comments that they can be noisy and harder riding and not all that great in snow. Read Tirerack surveys. Mixed reviews on the AS/3's. Also compare Conti DWS. Bought DWS's again.
It is all dependent on what you really want. There is no perfect tire. Had the DWS's on my 2012 E350 and had very little wear after 15k mi.
Your choice!

When selecting the installer (Firestone) from tirerack.com, it shows TPMS fee is 5 dollar per tire--- what exactly do they do here? And how does this differ from TPMS rebuild kit? Is it necessary to get this at each tire change?
