Can someone please verify Audio 20 backup cam
I've looked through most, if not all of the backup cam posts... It looks to me that if you have the comand head unit then it is the fakra connection, but with Audio 20 you have to use a video interface?
We are supposed to be getting our 2013 C300 with Audio 20 and Becker prewire. My wife would really like a backup cam, but the posts weren't really clear on Audio 20, unless I missed one.
Thanks!

You are correct. A Media-Interface is required to add video sources. Mercedes offers the Drive-Kit Plus for the iPhone but it doesn't look like it supports a camera. I would look for a car with the Multimedia Package installed unless you feel like messing around with an aftermarket media interface.

I looked at MM C300s, but the only ones I found were priced a bit high for what I want to pay.

Yeah, having only Audio20 really limits you.
I wanted back up cam too, but the local dealer's installation fee for retrofit of a COMAND NTG4 unit (for my 2010 model) was minimum $4000.
Depending on what you want, forking up the extra money when you purchase the vehicle could be a worthy investment.

i did the retrofit from APS50 to NTG4 and i had the following costs
NTG4 unit + screen 700 euro
dealer installation work + materials (cable to power the screen flip engine + new vent roster + extra cooling duct) 550 euro

Backup camera would be nice, but not necessary. Really it's my wife that wants it, this will be her car. We have one in our big vehicle and honestly I never use it. It's too distorted to even use to attach my camper! Any other big features if be missing out on that would be worth the extra $3K?

It would have a bigger screen (barely noticeable size difference), be able to play DVDs (while parked) and has the hardrive. I have a 160gb iPod loaded with music and if I want to watch a movie- I use my iPad Mini. I didn't have the multi-media on my 2008 and didn't care about it on my 2013.
