Installing navigation in 2011 C300
Got my first benz yesterday, 2011 C300
but it didn't come with navigation. Got a really good deal on it, so passed up on navigation. I found the flip out screen and navigation unit on ebay (~$900 for both). Plus I can sell non-nav unit I have now with the screen for ~$400. So it's worth doing.
To install it in my car, will I just drop it in where non-nav unit is? Is there any extra wiring I need to run or do reprogramming?
Thanks
But if you still need to do it, you would need the screen and comand module. You will also need a gps antenna and new wiring harnesses, which is fiber optic and brittle, I think, don't quote me. You also need a module that makes the screen open and close when the car is started and shut off, respectively. So really I am sure a couple wiring harnesses are needed.
Then you would also need to program the module as well as telling the car you have navi. I'm a little foggy on how this is but it's there...
If you can get all the parts, find someone who is familiar with the Mercedes system to help you install it. Otherwise, you should avoid it since it is not simple plug and play like your BMW.
Hope this helps and all the luck to you.
got the NTG4 module and screen from ebay for 600$ went to my dealer and he bought the rest (cooling duct, one extra cable to power the rotor and a new center air vent wit the rotor control buttons), did the install and added the option officially to my car.
costed me an other 500$ so in total 1100$

NTG4 is the main block right?
