Exclamation Help! Bi-Xenon lights different?

Hey everyone,

I had to get my whole headlight assembly replaced because water somehow got into the unit and fried everything!

The warranty covered the control unit (ballast) but I had to pay for the headlight assembly.

Anyway, they replaced everything and now the bi-xenon lights are different color from the untouched passenger side headlight?

The passenger headlight is whitish-blush. And the driver side which they replaced is like yellowish?! It doesn't look like it's a regular bulb because the lights start up like HIDs do (cools up first).

Any ideas guys? I have a 2010 C300 4Matic.

I tried to take pics but it's hard to see.

that is normal when replacing only one bulb, with time the new one will color shift aswell. assuming they are both OEM 4300K bulbs and that the passenger side had not been previously replaced with aftermarket one.

As the Bix burners wear the arc gap widens and the colour shifts to the blue end of the spectrum thus emitting less visible light.

Thanks! That's good to know. I still have the bulb from the old headlight assembly, so if anything I can have the dealer use that bulb and that should take care of things. I have to go back to the dealer because the headlight assembly is sticking out a bit --it's not flush with the fender like the untouched passenger side is.

Thanks though!

Do you know how to replace the stock Xenon bulb? There's a metal clip that I have no idea how to remove.

Sorry ~ never done the job on a W204. Only have the procedure for W209. I remember a previous thread asking this question but I can't find it.

Hopefully someone can advise us.
