Command Navigation Update
Anyone know what the newest firmware version is, how is it different from previous version? I have a 2013 and I don't see any update disc, wondering if I need to bring it to the dealership.

I checked for C Class 2013 and nothing came up. Have you checked your head unit software version? hold hang up, 1 and # (pound) for a few seconds to go into engineering menu mode.
For my 2011 W204 the most current DVD is 2014 Mercedes-Benz NTG4 DVD v13.0 $249.00 (You could always resell it on Ebay)

DVD security has nothing to do with re selling the original media.

The key or serial number for the DVD will show it has already been used and not allow it to be used a scond time by a different vehicle.

Trying to find an update for our 2012 but no go, it doesn't show available on the navigation.com website. My wife spent half her return drive last night off mapped roads.
Is this something we'll need to contact the dealer for?

I have the 2013 discs, which is actually data collected up until September 2012. I'm not sure how much had changed but it generally isn't worth the $250 unless it's a major navigation issue for you.

I have a 2013 C300 (purchased 6/2013) and a 2012 C350, both with Navigation. The 2013 information is a little bit better, some streets and locations appear that are not on my 2012 (purchased 9/2011). But it isn't worth $250. We just use the iPhone navigation when we can't find what we are looking for. Both Google and Apple Maps are much more current.

http://www.mercupgrades.com/comand%2...rticle-54.html Do you not get free maps for 3 years in the US like you can in the UK? You check the map versions under the "Navi" options on the main screen. Map updates take at least 4 hours and firmware is updated if required. Gracenote database updates at the same time.

Now the website is showing that the latest version is now V17.0 FYI

You can't update Navigation systems yourselves anymore. It requires a dealer install. Sure, you can buy the part but you still can't do anything with it. (This is for the factory system, not the Becker system in the UK or whatever it's called)

I tried the navigation when I bought my '09 C300 back in 2013 and to this day I haven't used it since. I do not like the look of it. Has the interface changed and improved well enough to use it over my phone?

Just had my MY2013 C350 Coupe updated to the latest version
N.AMERICA 2018 V18.0
$342.63+tax
You have to go to dealership because they have to use their computer through MB to update firmware and navigation database. You with get a authentication code, which is paired to the individual VIN

I bought http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Mercedes-Benz...72.m2749.l2649. The installation took long time (overnight) but was straightforward. I had a trickle charger on battery during install.

Reading this thread reenforces my decision vis-a- vis a Garmin purchase.
We used both enroute Scottsdale. The two units complimented one another.
The Garmin gave great vectors (Naval Air lingo). The MB unit provided a hotel. (a cellphone completed the deal)
Reckon you just might call this a team effort.
It's all good (plus we calc'd 34 1/2 mpg for the 1600 mile round trip).
