Can't get fuel into C250 tank
Gas light came on Friday. Didn't drive car until today (Sunday). Went to gas station, and car wouldn't take gas. I assumed it was the pump, so drove up the street to different station. Still wouldn't take gas unless I forced it, and even then, only maybe 2 second max before it would click off like it was full. Thought, what's the chances of two bad pumps? So just moved car to different pump at same station...same thing. Had to use the pump in a VERY specific way to get gas in for about 30-45 seconds, then tried to use the auto-fill feature on the nozzle again and it worked fine.
Maybe since tank was almost empty (less than 3 gallons left since car only took 14 gallons and it at the Full mark), and it sat in hot sun, some vapors expanded or something? Making the nozzles think tank was full somehow?
My credit card company got involved because I kept swiping (total of 4 times at different pumps).
Any W204 owners have issues filling car with gas?

I had the same issue the last two times I tried putting gas, press thing, goes in a bit, and then it releases and closes the flow...
Struggled forever and managed to get $13 in and then just drove home. Tried it today, struggled for a minute and finally got it to fill up. Then I couldn't pull out the nozzle. Wtf is going on.
Must be the heat and gases like you said.

When this sort of thing happens, its because the charcoal canister goes bad. It needs to be replaced otherwise you'll continue to have this problem. Usually the charcoal bag inside the canister breaks open and clogs the other components attach to it (ex: purge valve, solenoid). Gasses flow thru the canister for pollution control and solenoid and purge open and close to draw vapors into the engine. Fresh air is aslo drawn in to mix with the vapors for better combustion.

Had the same problem with my 2013 a few times...now i just put in the gas nozzle into my tank and push the nozzle downwards almost locking it into place. Now the auto-fill feature works and haven't had a problem since then hopefully this works
