Thumbs down My w204 strut tower bolt is stripped

My strut tower bolt was stripped by my mechanic when installing new suspension... and now, I would like to remove my top strut brace... and found the bolt is stripped...I am really sad... my car is brand new......what can I do to remove it..
And I would also like to order a new bolt... where can I find a new one?

Many thanks

you can order it from a number of wholesale online dealer parts departments. You don't say where you live, so it is hard to answer your question more precisely. If you need the part number, simply register for free access to Mercedes EPC (Electronic Parts Catalog). Then input your VIN and go under suspension and find the part. Then order the part from one of the online sources or go to a local dealership.

I also highly suggest that you retap the bolt hole in the strut.

Thanks for your information, I live in Hong Kong, I just found out the part number through EPC and will try to order through dealer tomorrow.

Just one thing making me confused, what do you mean by retaping the bolt hold in the strut? Would you mind clarifying a bit more? thanks bro

This is what he means by tapping the bolt hole:

basically just fixing the screw thread.

If you put a new bolt in a damaged thread in the strut, it may damage the new bolt. Re-tapping the thread will clean up any imperfection that may have caused the stripped bolt in the first place.
