Man, I haven't posted in a long time so here goes.

Im looking to get a BBK from my 08 C300. Right now I got 19" Vertini Fairlady rims, which will most likely get replaced by either 19" Vertini Dynasty, or Rohana RC10s. I will also be replacing my stock 17" rims for some 18" for the winter.

The BBK I'm looking at is Ceika. (www.ceikaperformance.com) They have an attractive price as well as very good looking kits. I don't want to spend 4-5k on brakes when I dont track the car, but I do want the nice look of BBKs.

I've done a lot of research and read an 18page thread on the BMW forums on the quality of Ceika, and they have the quality. A guy had fitment issues with his M5 on stock wheels, but I wont be running stock wheels so I dont have an issue with that. Otherwise, apparently they are really good quality, especially for the price point.

My question is, what should I look out for. I have zero clue on brakes. What sizes should I be running with having 18" rims and 19" rims. Could I install them myself, or should I just get them professionally installed.

What are you guys input on brakes, and also the 1M Coilovers provided by ceika as well. I want to lower my car a little bit so that it fits nice with 18" in the winter and 19s in the summer.

I honestly don't think you need BBK's unless you're doing it mainly for looks. Some slotted rotors like stoptech, DBA etc and decent pads along with better fluid and SS lines should more than stop your car adequately.

Your 19's should clear the BBK and 18's also but 18's may require a spacer, however you also need to consider all the dimensions of the BBK. Width, length and height. Better to get them installed professionally along with new fluid and a proper bleed.

Im finally getting coilovers and Im currently wrapping my car so i think it will fit in nice.

Guess my question is, what size of BBK should I get to be safe with 18" rims.

You should be ok with up to 304mmx22mm I think. The stock w212 e500 coupe rotors are 320mm I think and they fit behind stock MB 18's.

What about the rear kit. 330x28?

I was also thinking about doing a BBK kit on my 09 C350.

Then the other day I was on the Autobahn going through an 80km/h zone when a Porsche GT3 rolled up next to me (both of us were going around 50mph). Then we hit an unrestricted zone. Then said Porsche dropped a couple gears with a relatively decent rev match. The sound was pretty orgasmic. Then he floored it. I floored it at the same time. Then he pulled away from me. Then he kept pulling away from me, hard. Then by the time I was doing 100mph he was doing about 140 and was already a quarter mile ahead of me. Then I realized just how slow my car is. Then I asked myself wtf is the point of doing a BBK on a C Class with less than 220whp?

If these cars needed a BBK Mercedes would have been nice enough to build them with one. Yes, it would look good, yes your stopping power would improve drastically. But It's 100% not necessary and a big waste of money IMO. So I ordered some Akebono pads and am just going to paint my calipers black (thought about red or yellow but don't want to make my car look ricey and tacky. I don't know I still might go with yellow for ****s and giggles).

But if you have the money to blow and you still insist on looking like your car is faster than it is, have you considered picking up some used C63 calipers? The condition doesnt really matter, you could potentially pick some up used for less than $1000.00, rebuild them for around $200.00, powdercoat them any color you like for around $300.00, and have a BBK for less than $1500.00. This is what I wanted to do, but again, I realized at the end of the day I will have spent around $3000.00 (including buying new wheels so I can fit the larger calipers) and my car will still be slow and unsatisfying.

So until my wife will let me trade the Benz in on an 07+ M3 or a C63 AMG, or I can afford to have an SLK55 AMG as a weekend play car, I decided to focus on tasteful cosmetic mods and be done with it.

Yah I feel you. Only getting BBK to finish off the car. It's gonna be lowered. It's wrapped a dark matte grey. Got the quad exhaust. New gloss black c63 grille.

Might as well put in the BBK lol. It'll be worth it for the looks

The stock brakes on my '11 are pretty excellent to begin with. Yeah the larger AMG and other big brake kits look pretty and they do stop well. I'm stuck because of the 4Matic. I do like the Blue Ceika though. Maybe I'll give them a call and see what they can do for me.

I'd go with whatever size the stock c63 AMG brakes are for the front and rear. That way you've got a good baseline of what MB engineers saw this chassis needing in terms of stopping power with ultimate engine power.

My 2011 also stops really well. The oem brakes are matched really well with the amount of power the car makes. Then again I still have the stock 17s on. I want to go with the AMG 18" twin 5 spokes eventually and I wonder if it will stop as well with more weight then.
