2013 C350 mods w/o impact to warranty
So on the fence about potential mods if any to my current ride, but always was curious the impact of those on the warranty? Being that I am currently in Germany (car is US spec), I have a few MB customizers within arms reach. However I do not want to risk the warranty when I finally return to the states. I am thinking tune, filter upgrades and exhaust. Has this impacted anyone with this when getting warranty repairs?
**Might buy a C63 in the coming month and can this entire idea...this is the fallback in case the car deal doesnt work.

A tune will void your entire powertrain warranty. Filter upgrades net very little, if any power. And exhaust will really only impact sound. Most people tune their cars with no impact to their warranty. They just don't go around telling their SA that their car is tuned, and they have no reason to check. The risk is yours to take, however.

Not trying to hijack the thread but I figure my question relates... What about those who have lowering springs installed on their still warrantied MB? Who did you have install them and has anyone had any experiences with warranty issues?

In my opinion if you decide to lower your car and have some issues with the suspension control arms ect... dealer won't preform any repairs due to the reason they can't touch any aftermarket parts and anything related to it. As far as exhaust goes the only problem with that is air pollution. From my understanding there is certain law protecting us consumers from dealers voiding the warranty after installing aftermarket parts. The dealer needs to confirm that the aftermarket part caused the problem or failure. If they can't legally they can't void your warranty. I know there are certain company's that tune the ecu and warranty the engine and engine components for about 20k miles and if engine failure happens they pay for repairs up to $55k.

Mercedes would have to prove that a particular mod caused the associated system to fail (ie: lowering springs causing the suspension to fail in some manner. They cannot void your entire warranty for installing a mod)

IF you are looking at tune, Carlsson takes over factory drivetrain warranty if you use their chips. So yes, you lose Benz warranty, but Carlsson will honour it instead.

check out my mods, they will not void warranty except for that specific item
