Diffuser Questions...

Tried searching, but couldn't find this answered anywhere...

How do I know if my rear diffuser comes off and I can install a replacement one? OR if I need to install an overlay diffuser instead?

I have a 2009 C300 6 Speed Manual. The diffuser is straight across at the top, it doesn't have that "bump" in the middle like I see on some other models.

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply Doa!

I have these packages:

Sport Package for the C 300 (RWD only)…
• Dynamic Handling Package
• AMG 17" 6-Twin-Spoke Wheels
• New Direct Steering

Dynamic Handling Package
At the push of a button, vehicle characteristics can vary between a comfortable and sporty set-up. The following parameters can be influenced:
• Continuously variable damping
• Speed-sensitive power steering with variable centering and more direct steering ratio
• ESP/ASR (traction control)
• Accelerator response

So does that mean I likely have a real diffuser?

Well you don't have a diffuser really, but you should be able to install the pre-face lift c63 diffuser. Sport package normally means you have the AMG bumper.

Here are some pics. Looks like it has some bolts - so is it replaceable with a real diffuser? If anyone can link to a suitable diffuser - either CF or black, quad or dual exhaust, would be great :-)

IIRC you'll need the brackets as well as the amg diffuser for the earlier models. or at least the brackets are different.

Currently, your diffuser is held in by clips securing it to the bumper and those bolts pictured.

If you don't want to spend the extra on C63 brackets, you can also attach the pre-facelift C63 diffuser to your sports bumper via the clips and long machine screws and wingnuts. It's probably more stable with the brackets, but that worked for me.
