Hi All,
I have always liked the dual exhaust look of the C300 and C350 and thanks to members on this forum (especially AV1) I have finally made the mod on my C200. Below are the before and after photos. Let me know what you think?
That looks good!! I was thinking about this also on my 2013 C250 now I know it can be done! Do you know if any of the AMG style diffusers would work also by any chance??
Yes the AMG diffusers will work but most of the BIG FIN diffusers are for quad exhaust so they have a much wider opening for the exhaust and will look a little out of place when installed with the OEM dual exhaust tips setup.
However, I have seen some members with BIG FIN dual exhaust diffusers which is something I am interested in as well. Maybe someone can advise on where to buy them.
I was just wanting to do a duel. Hmmm well if all that needs to be switched are the tips to turn it quad and fill out the bigger space that's not to bad

Before with stock bumper and single exhaust
After.
That looks very neat. What exactly did you do? How did you do the setup? Can you take some pics from underneath the car?
Nice work on the modification. I did a quad-tip one as well soon after I got my car only for 3 months (still under another 21 month worldwide warranty)... I bought a new diffuser for the bumper.
Actually, I am wanting to keep the same dual tips but with a BiG Fin diffusers (non CF) style for stock tips instead of quads. Still haven't come across one for sale anywhere.
Quite a few people asked about this mod. Below are the details.
i am in Australia and my car still have 3 years unlimited factory warranty and I was told by the MB service that exhaust mods before the muffler will void my warranty. Hence, the instructions below is for warranty friendly dual exhaust mods.

Hi, I am using one so-called non-CF big fin diffuser (which cost me around US$120) from Taiwan, shipping to my place. It fits almost 95% but need slight modifications on two of the 8 clips of the diffuser.
I personally dont go for the aftermarket CF diffusers as the qualities can be quite varied.

Buy Parts
a) AMG bumper upgrade:
If you already have an AMG sports body kit you can skip this step and save a lot of money.
I bought a facelift OEM bumper and had it resprayed. This is the most costly part of the excercise. Bumper and respray :$AUD1100
b) Buy the OEM C300 diffusers:
Both the c300 and C350 amg bumper diffusers are the same and will work.
$AUD175
c) You also need the RHS and LHS diffusers brackets
These are different from the C63 diffuser brackets.
PN: A2048854514 LHS - $AUD44
PN: A2048854414 RHS - $AUD44
d) RHS Exhaust Tips:
A2044906427 $AUD75
The LHS exhaust tip of the C200 or C250 is exactly the same as the c300 ones even though they have a different part number. Hence, you only need the RHS tip.
Exhaust routing
I found that the exhaust will look neat when you don't protrude the exhaust tip out too much and keep it about an inch out from the diffusers.
By doing this doughnut bending on the RHS allows me more room to play around with quad tips in the future.
Labour $AUD250.
Thanks for the detailed description of your modification. Indeed, I did the similar modification through a garage locally. At first, I placed the order of Armytrix exhaust set (cost around US$2400) but then I was concerned with the warranty issue like you too, also the noise from the value exhaust set.
After figuring out the minimal effect on the low torque and general power of my C200, I gave a go on the far end extension set too. At least, I think the rear look of the c class is more sporty then.

Do you mind sending me a link to the mob that sold you the big fin dual exhaust diffusers?
I hope you can read the link. As I am from Hong Kong, I mostly get stuffs here locally, Taiwan or China which cost cheaper shipping. Indeed, there are many MB parts (OEM or aftermarket available in the places, if not from Germany and Europe).

Man this is like the best kept secret! The parts looked really professionally done. I have not seen Chinese sellers post such detail photos of their parts. I get lost looking at Ali express but these guys really look like they got their acts together.
Now I am after the big fin but for dual exhaust not quad. They only have big fins for the quad and normal one for the double.
Well, indeed, those are in Chinese and you can possibly use Google Translate for help. Alternatively, if you find anything interesting, just post the link here and I might help translate them if necessary. Cheers.
Still don't understand why MB models come with single exhausts especially for the price you pay and considering how more Ford's and Dodge's come with dual exhaust for cheaper (i.e., Dodge Dart).

That is correct and I'm sure the main question for all of us involved on this topic, but as many of us have done it's quite easy to resolve in many different ways all depending on ones budget.
However there's no need to worry about it anymore with all future or new MB models as they're all appearing with either dual or quad symmetrical exhaust tip outlet layouts now
