2010 C300

Drivers Power Lock

Hi, I am having an issue with the power door lock on the drivers side. Intermittently with the key fob the drivers door will not lock or unlock. It appears just to be lazy. The lights and sounds come on when lock/ unlock attempts are tried and the other doors work fine. This also occurs with the door lock/ unlock buttons on the door panel. I have changed the batteries on both fob's and lubricated the door latch. The door will lock and unlock with the steel back up key that is in the fob. I do not have the keyless go feature. Any thought?

I'm leaning towards the actuator also. There is a low buzzing type noise from the actuator when it does not work. I'm thinking that its only a matter of time when it does not work at all. I will see what the dealership wants for the part. Maybe I can find one online.

Looks like its the actuator. It does not work at all now. Any idea how to remove the aluminum cover that is behind the door panel. I see some rivets there that probably need to be drilled out. There is no DIY for a door actuator replacement.

Yep, time to drill some rivets. I believe on this model the exterior handle assembly may have to come out also but that is secured inside the panel also. Labor time for this one calls for 1.4 hrs. Don't be discouraged if it takes significantly longer. Any questions just ask, I have Mitchell pro demand so I can pull up the schematics and procedures if needed. At least it's a clean job! Could be worse!
