Long story short. Yes.
If you search for comand retrofit, it should lead you in the right direction

not for USB but with the comand you can use SD cards (with a PCMCIA adapter)

.
You can also use an aftermarket radio. The problem with that is that they are a double-DIN unit and if you have heated seats or rear sunshde, they will be reloacted and it doesn't look as pretty as stock.

So I just replaced my Audio 20 head unit. Here's what I found out in the process.
First, you can put any option MB makes in your car; sirius, Navi, CD changer, etc. but you,ll have to have the dealer code the system to the car and that can get expensive. They can charge what ever they want.
Second, start looking around esp. LKQ site on Ebay. You'll see how expensive the parts for a retrofit can get. You want the pop-up screen right? You're gonna need the head unit as well. Don't forget any modules you don't have, ie sirius or backup cam. This can easily run to $1500 or more.
Don't forget the labor involved. You'll have to run new wires and take apart some of the dash and center console.
The used head unit from a GLK cost $225. The labor to put it in was $225 (had the shop put a new center vent in and an AMG leather shift knob while everything was taken apart.) Luckily the head unit was from the same year as mine and didn't need to be coded at the dealer. Any other year and it would have had to. I was informed it would be a $300 charge at the dealer.

well yea when you buy a new car the COMAND option is about 3k so don't expect to retrofit it for 200 bucks

/\/\/\ Oh snap!!!!
You did it. I was told this couldn't be done. So what, you found a head unit from an E-class, and it fit? How much was the coding? Did the dealer have to do it? That's was I originally wanted. It looks so freakin' tight!!

The NTG4 headunit works fine.
I did this mod on my own. You just have to shorten the faceplate.
Replace 204 headunit, install 212 headunit and thats it, no coding necessary.
You just have to adjust extras like HK soundsystem, rear view cam, sattelite radio eg. You can do that via SD or the headunits own engineering mode.
