OEM HID Lighting/AMG Headlight Conversion?

Hey guys, I did a search and couldn't find anything so apologies if its been answered before.

I'm wondering if it is possible to do the premium lighting package conversion/AMG C63 headlight on a w204 with stock halogens? Meaning, if I were to somehow get a hold of OEM projector HID headlights which have the ballasts, etc. all in the same unit, is it merely a "plug and play" swap from my halogen lights?

Keep in mind I am NOT talking about the DEPO headlight conversion. I'm talking specifically about OEM. Has anyone done this?

Thanks!

You need to have the dealer to program your car as well, it's not a plug n play for sure. There's a member who did this before though, might wanna get a hold with Vic_Viper

Thanks will do! I am also speaking with my local MB dealer today and what else would be required to get this to work.

So far it sounds like just the new harness and reprogram CPU to turn on Xenons.

I'd love to know as well. I bought the DEPO lights but they've been going bad so I have to return one of them (3 others have the same problem). I'd rather just get the genuine lights and know that they will not go bad.

EDIT: I see you bought them as well but haven't put them on

I had originally bought the DEPO headlights but after reading all of the problems, I said the hell with it and returned them. Going OEM.

Whenever I get to the point of having the dealer install and upgrade the headlights, I will be sure to document everything and share on the forum so everyone can benefit.

This mod. will be very expensive, I have the premium lighting system. It has more than only Xenon headlight such as auto leveling system, side lightning at low speed, auto low/high beam. $$$$

You need:

Left/Right headlight @ $1000 each
New bumper with headlight washer cutouts $????
Headlight washer hardware @ $???
New windshield with camera @ $???
camera module for ILS headlight system @ $????

Plus the programming and install time which will easily be another $1500-2000.

Not worth it.

honestly i dont think you need all that just to get OEM HIDs to work on your car.

just get the OEM HID headlights will the ballasts and bulbs, install, and take it to dealer to program.

Then what's the point? You're paying 7-8x the cost of aftermarket DEPOs for the same functionality, none of the ILS features besides cornering lights will work. I guess you're keeping your car OEM in the sense that you're half-installing an OEM system.

There is no need for all the headlight washer stuff and windshield. The point of doing the retrofit is to have a functional HID setup with a good output rather than the terrible output from the DEPO housings. The new OEM housing and a reprogram is more than enough, the rest of the mods are not going to be very useful to see at night.
