Bosch Icon blades streaking after 1 month

When I first got my car the OEM blades were bad with 20K miles on the car. The seller replaced them but their blades did not make contact with the windshield.

Then I picked up a pair of Bosch Icon blades and at first they seemed to work great. However, on a road trip they were completely streaking in my field of vision. I had to duck down to see out of the bottom portion of the blades swipe. I used a bit of cleaning fluid also to make sure it wasn't dirt.

From what I've read these cars are finicky with blades. Could there be something else going on, like spring tension?

I had the same problem , I wiped the blades with denatured alcohol until all the black residue was removed , now they are good as new again,

Were they as new as mine?

I have another thought. My windshield had gotten some small nicks from a gravel hauler. Perhaps they have damaged the wipers. I'll take a closer look tomorrow.

Funny, they are supposed to be OEM. Also, those connector are so big I'm worried about airflow drag, lol.

Guess I'll try to get the Michelin Stealth or RainX blandes next.

I went from OEM, to Bosch Evolutions, back to OEM and now on cheap Goodyear hybrids purchased from Costco. So far nothing beats OEM, but I figure @ $8 a blade (Goodyear Hybrids), I can afford to change them once a year and still come out ahead.

If these fail in less than a year then I'm going back to my old favorite Silblades.

I should check to see what the dealer sells them for. They charge about $90 installed. Which is nuts considering all you have to do is flip it upside down to slide on/off.

Bosch ICON are not the OEM blades. The giant all-purpose adapter is quite ugly too. These are the ones you want (and they don't streak, I had disappointing results with the ICON blades as well). These are also Bosch, but way better and without the annoying adapter.

I can't say that I ever had good luck with any blade and I have tried quite a number over the years. Seems like no matter what the brand they all start to streak within a few months.

Thanks, they didn't show up for me when I first looked on Amazon as they have them listed as incompatible with my car.
